    Surprisingly good!4
I was rather surprised when I began playing this game. The graphics are good for a sports PS3 game, and the music is excellent. Gameplay is easy to learn, regardless of any age or skill. Lots of replay value as you can unlock different players and teams. You can also play online against people from all over the world; this was a humbling experience. It is defintely a solid street ball game for the ps3.

    TWEENER4
I didn't go into FIFA Street 3 with very high expectations. In fact, I've been burned by EA BIG before. But believe it or not, this game was just plain fun from the jump. You really can just sit down, turn it on, and just start playing. Combine that with my very casual understanding of the international soccer scene, and the fact that this game remained fun and enjoyable speaks volumes for it's replay value and staying power in anyones game library.

STAND-ALONE: I really felt like I could have just played match after match until my eyes turned to dust. The controls are easy to learn and adjust to, and the competition stays challenging without becoming impossibly difficult to overcome.

MULTI-PLAYER: Well, what can I say...the opportunity to set up a match online between America and Germany that actually involves someone from AMERICA and GERMANY just has a coolness factor all it's own.

Definite rent-to-own title. Don't miss out on an opportunity to play one of the best straight-outta-da-box games so far this year. Instant fun!

    Rehash of the NBA games2
When I played this game the first thing that jumped out at me is the obvious fact that EA engineers have rehashed their NBA game engine to create this. The behavior of the players, their positioning, court sizes - everything looks like they belong in a basketball game, not soccer. To this they have added some fancy footwork and a goal instead of a basket. To beat the computer is ridiculously easy - if you stop showboating and play soccer the way it is played - with proper passing and shooting.
Sorry - I'll take PES and it's variations every time.

Kind of like a really well-done Fight Night Round 2.5, this is a fantastic portable boxer.4
THE SHORT: The title IS misleading- as far as arenas and unlockables, this is pretty much Fight Night Round 2. But it does have some new additions, and either way the gameplay itself is great: Excellent graphics, short loading times, full commentary, create-a-boxer, and smooth control. Ignore the whiners, this game is great on the PSP, it's just not really worth the name "Round 3".

THE LONG: I love Fight Night, and always have- starting with the original game and working up to last spring's Round 2, I always loved the boxer control and realistic approach. Round 3 just came out, and I'm sorry but I can't compare the home version to the PSP one since I'm waiting for the 360 version, a system I don't yet have.

What I CAN do is tell you how the game is on its own, and how it compares to the home version of Fight Night Round 2, which this game is almost exactly like.

For those who are new, you don't have much at all to be worried about. In this game, you take control of a well-known or created boxer and rise up the ranks by picking your outfit, trainer and cutman, and fighting your way to the top. You'll fight a bunch of randomly generated opponents (since there's only so many real characters in the game) and at the top of the heap you'll face the champ of your weight class. And like in real life, you then defend your belt. The game doesn't end if you lose, you just have to regain your rank. Fight until you choose to retire, or are too old to continue. This is the general progression of the game.

Between each fight, you'll train to power up your body to be fast, powerful, defensive, or a balance of all 3 in several areas, training in 3 levels of intensity. You'll also get to decide who you want to fight, taking into consideration how much money each one's worth and how much time passes before each (because more time in between fights means a shorter career). But if you tire (or retire) the character you choose, you can start fresh with another character and have access to any of the dozens of trunks, gloves, and gear that you unlocked with the earlier character.

The fights themselves are great. You can switch control schemes, but default classic control means you move with the analog stick and throw punches with the face buttons (high and low, left and right). Shoulder buttons are for dodging and throwing body blows. It's pretty much exactly like earlier games in the series, which means that it's very intuitive and doesn't take long to get the hang of. I've played the game before, so I have an advantage, but I should still point out that on easy, I retired my first character with a 65-0-0 record. That means I wasn't beaten once. It gets harder when you turn up the difficulty, sure, but for beginners or those looking to just have fun you'll definitely find the game fun and not frustrating. I've heard that powerful haymaker punches are too tricky, but what can I say, I've had no problems. You get hit with them much more on higher difficulty, but I don't think they dictate the fight by any means.

As for what happens during the fight, it's pretty much exactly like Round 2 on the home systems. The graphics are great home system quality, very smooth and without slowdown or hiccups. The camera zooms and pans, and you can easily see the sweat and blood bounce off the fighters. Facial detail is excellent as you can see specific damage that has been done, not only during cutman segments but also the fight itself. The action is called the whole time by professional ESPN commentator Joe Tessitore, who like last game does a tremendous job. The comments are almost always current with the action and very specific to what's happening in the fight. He'll scold a fighter for a low blow or even mention that the ref may call the fight for all the damage you've done to the left hand side of your opponent.

In all, it's a great game if you want a fun portable boxing game. It's even got wireless multiplayer, which I only tested against a friend nearby but which seemed to work fine. It's the only one for the PSP, but honestly would be the best regardless until a perfect port of Round 3 (or future) is released.

Which brings me to those who've played the game before, and to those wanting to know some deeper specifics of this game. If you are tired of Round 2 or just plain want this game to be totally new (as the name implies), you'll be disappointed. That's because this is almost exactly the same game. There's some different stuff in the details, but arenas, unlockables, create-a-boxer, and commentary are all the same as far as I can tell. It's honestly my only complaint, and it's a big one if you go in blindly.

But here's the deal: FNR2 was a great game, and it's pretty much the same here. I mean, it looks just as nice and plays as good as you remember. Transitioning from the home controllers will be a bit awkward at first, but not nearly as hard or frustrating as some of the reviews have suggested. If you had a good time playing Round 2, you'll have as good a time with this one.

What's different is small but interesting and adds to the overall solidness of the game. Randomly, you'll gain a rival as you go through the ranks, and he'll periodically challenge you. It doesn't matter much if you want to keep fighting or not, but it's nice to see a magazine appear showing your rivalry. Until a game comes along that really gets into the outside details of boxing, things can't develop much further than this anyway.

In addition, you can now earn bonuses during the fights by throwing them a little- sometimes a contract will give you a cash boost if you suffer a knockdown in a certain round, or win using an illegal move. It's a little touch that adds some strategy. In addition, your cut of the purse is no longer as cut and dry- factors such as your rank, title situation, and trainer/cutman fees will eat into how much you actually earn per fight. It's realistic and is another step towards feeling like a more complete boxing game. There are still lots of charity events and prmotional fights so you'll always be busy.

Lastly there are rival scenarios outside the career mode. This involves taking control of famous fighters in their most famous bouts, ranging from Ali / Frasier to B-Hop's controversial fight in 2005. You can complete history, alter it, or just play all the way through. You get massive cash awards for completing these challenges which you can use in career mode. Sure, it's just more fighting and not much of a change, but it's something new. For this stuff though, it's very important to note that the balance seems to be a removed training session- that's always automatic now.

In total, I find this game just as fun and addictive as Fight Night ever was, because quite honestly it's the same thing but with a few extra tweaks. I'd recommend it to anyone who liked the others, or to someone looking for a fantastic boxing game for the PSP in general. A lot of the negative stuff I'm hearing seems to stem from the fact that the game's not really the true part 3 advertised on the box, which I admit is pretty cheesy. But if you don't need this to be the next sequel in the series, then I'm sure you'll find it fun. Give it a try.

    Much better then I expected5
I am a huge boxing fan who is very picky when it comes to boxing video games. I loved Fight Night 2004 but hated Fight Night Round 2. Even though I purchased Round 3 for the PSP I was simply hoping for a passable game. After having played if for a few hours, I can now say that this is more then just passable, but is a great game. It does have some flaws: for instance the haymaker is launched from the top left button that you also use for swaying, so that when you sway and then counter you often automatically throw a haymaker. They should have mapped the haymaker differently (Maybe have you press both top buttons).

Still, the game is tremendously addicting. It has an awesome create a fighter mode that is pretty much a mini art game by itself. the graphics are PS2 quality and the controls really become intuitive after an hour or two. All in all, a must buy for PSP owners.

    Surprising5
This one I got it first for the PSP and then for the PS2. Control is more difficult in hard fights for the PSP version so you should start a career while you get use to them with less challenging fighters; however, uppercuts are a lot easier to throw on the PSP by pressing 2 buttons simultaneously than in the PS2 using the joysticks. Graphics in he PSP look better, round announcing chicks are hot and the sound of every bone crushing punch is noticed. With not many boxing titles in any platform and very few fighters on the market for the PSP this one is a must buy.

    Almost Perfect4
Fits on smoothly and easily. Great quality. Looks hot.

Only downside is that the skin makes the power and eject buttons on the PS3 less sensitive (particularly the power). For us this is a bonus - when toddlers walk over and touch the power button area of the console while we're playing, it doesn't get shut off.

If you hold you finger there long enough it usually shuts off, but we opt to just use the remote.

Never two in a row for this series...3
I give up. Every time EA Sports comes out with a good boxing game for PS2, they have always followed it up with a disappointment. After finally getting on the right track with ROUND 2, the train derailed again. Way to go, EA! At least you're consistent!

    THE NEGATIVES:

    - CONTROL
Here's the big one. I don't know if they sacrificed the quality here for another feature, but believe me, it's not worth it! The "punching under water" reference one reviewer gave is right on the money and not just on the haymakers! I'm trying to fire off a jab-right-hook combination, and after the right, I'm just standing there like a drunken apple woman!

    - SLO-MO REPLAYS
Probably more annoying than the controls is the slow motion instant replay of the knockdowns. The screen freezes on the connection for about 4 seconds, and the sound...THE SOUND!!! "Yiiiiiahhh!!!!Booooom!!!!ssssplat!!!!" If I had my eyes closed, it would sound like my dad crashing his '75 Merc into a display window full of grapefruits! Oy vey!!

    - BOXER SELECTION
There are too many repetitions of boxers through the weight classes. EA, ever heard of variety? Can't acquire a license for a particular fighter? Try another, you numbskulls!
It was nice to see Ricky Hatton in there, but where's Floyd Mayweather? So much for THAT dream match! Maybe a code to unlock? Don't think I'll be playing this long enough to acquire that one!

    - NO TIME-OUTS ON THE PENALTIES (...AGAIN!!!)
Come on guys! If nothing else!!!! When a boxer commits a foul, he's doing it to get a break. Surely the damage it can cause is a nice perk, but that's not the main reason to break the rules. Don't believe me that this makes a difference? Remember Trinidad vs. Vargas? (low blows) Coralles vs. Castillo I (spitting out the mouthpiece)? Kind of critical if I recall...

    - NO DUAL NAMES IN CAREER MODE
I heard a rumor about a year ago they were going to try this. Obviously this got shelved too. For a boxer you create, you could choose from a series of first names and a series of last names, and the CPU would combine them... Nope! It's back to the ridiculous nicknames (or pseudonyms) I wouldn't even name my dog! COMEBACK KID! THE ASSASSIN! ...yippee skippee.

    - THE MUSIC
Don't get me wrong. I don't have anything against rap and R&B. However, when you choose Arturo Gatti, Mickey Ward, and the 1950's Gillette motif as the center of your ad campaign, you might want to conform the soundtrack to that as well. I mean watching Sugar Ray Robinson walking to the ring to the sounds of Black-Eyed Peoples or even imagining Mickey Ward jamming with his family in his Lowell Massachusetts home to the eclectic beat of Obie Trice is just a little hard to digest. Best of both worlds, huh? Yyyyyeeeeah! Boyeeeeeeee!!!

    - NO TAKING A KNEE
Way in the dark ages when this series was called Knockout Kings, there was this really cool feature where if your boxer was in danger, you could actually go down to one knee and take an 8-count. Sadly, that feature has never returned, and it ain't starting back now! Ahhh, memories...

    THE POSITIVES:

Believe it or not, there are a few neat features on Round 3. On one of the POV's you can actually utilize full 360 degree ring movement while still keeping the same camera angle. It's a little tricky, but definitely refreshing and a nice challenge.
Also, sometimes your opponent may not be hyped up for a fight with you. He trudges his way to the ring and even tries to leave the ring once he steps through the ropes. His trainer has to keep him from making a break for the exit. Nice little Martin and Lewis there!
The volume of the ring announcer's introduction of the fighters in accordance with the crowd noise...That's an improvement.
The boxers' motions (leaning on the ropes, knockdowns, defensive postures) have been improved as well. However, with the slow control problem, it's kind of hard to prioritize that in your recall.

Overall, ROUND 2 is still the best professional boxing game out there for the PS2. Hopefully the makers of ROUND 4 will learn from the mistakes on this one. It can't hurt to hope, but I'm not holding my breath!

Stick with FIGHT NIGHT: Round 2, it's a much better product.3
They really dropped the ball on this one.
First off, he strange retro look to it, makes it tough to look at. Imagine looking at
a Burger King or Mc Donald's all day. The character creation area, has some
cool new stuff, like new postures for defense and offense, but other then that,
it's weak. The view is much further away then in the Previous versions, and the
choices seems to have been cut down, rather then increased (as you would think
would happen in a follow-up game). Still only have 4 places to put tattoos (Left
arm, right arm, back, and chest. If you want a tat on the forearm, no luck there.
The controls are much more sluggish then the others, and there are lots of POPs
in the actions or transfers between actions.
I used to like to watch the slow-motion hits after the knock down, but not any more.
The Characters have lost something in their detail. They don't look as good. And the
sound is Awful in Slow Mo. It sounds like paper tearing, and drums, and the impact,
doesn't line up with the sound. The announcers also get cut off in mid sentence, when
    talking about a hit.
The Training is different. They kept the same things as Round 2, but changed
them enough to make me hate them. In Round 2 you could easily see what you
were supposed to do. The angel in Round 3 sucks. The punch dummy, for instance:
He is turned at such an angel away from you, that you can't tell when they want
you to hit the Left side of the face.
The sparing is much better, in that you can choose what you want to work on,
and it trains you in just that.
Problem with the controls, is that when doing moves like uppercut or Heymaker,
you are faulted by the analog controller now. You go to the right then up, for a hook.
For a Heymaker hook, you go right, then roll down, then Up. Trouble is, that once you
go down, the fighter tries to do an Uppercut, or throw a Left. It's almost impossible
to throw an Uppercut Heymaker. Once you cross the middle point on the controller,
he will switch to the other hand and throw a jab.
You also can not block for ever anymore. With the R1 pressed, you get about 3
seconds of blocking, and then he will throw a random punch.
The ring girls change clothes during an event, but a LOT less time was taken
on making them look good. Their hands don't' even close on the cards, and their
heads pop as they look around. the joggle cam (allah 24, or NYPD Blue) when
you go to your corner, is annoying.
OH! And in the middle of a fight, you will suddenly be thrown into a new Camera View!
You start pounding on a guy, and it will switch to HIS point of View.

Stick with Round 2. It's a MUCH better product.

    MORE CONS::
    * Character builder is greatly restricted in looks. All fighters look like fighters now.
You can no longer build yourself, or your skinny friends, fat friends, or super Buff friends, or
even your really Ripped friends. It's all kind of "middle ground" now.
This makes FNR3 less cartoony, but I liked the fact you could make a Steve Bushemi in FNR2.
    * lack of entourage or entrance effects. I am pretty far into the game, and have seen No
choices so far for these, not even under "Locked" . No choice on entrance music.
    * Cutman has been simplified to just right and left.
*Everything is too expensive. $20,000 for starter shoes?!
    * The entrance "dances" have been greatly reduced. Why not just keep the ones they had,
and ADD to them? Now there are like... 3... maybe 4. I'd still like to be able to choose my
entrance personallity. (ie. show off, humble, crowd pleaser, etc)
*No Rankings. WHY? You never know where you stand in the Rankings.
*Home Towns. I could not find Seattle, or Dallas. They may not be big boxing towns,
    but they ARE major Cities.
    *Still no chest hair.
    * I Figured the sound in Slow Mo: Forcefully Dump a bucket of Ice into a Plactic Cooler that is
    half melted Ice.

    Some PROS:
    * The Coaches now tell you what you need. They are more precise. This is a good step.
    * You can change your character as you go. After a few fights, if you want to give him a
new hair style, you can. You can even remold his face, change his stance, or style of
defense or offense. I like this.
    * When your character is winded, the controls get sluggish, and he moves slower. This is
not the same as the wanky controls I mentioned above.
    * The AI is much smarter. They find a weakness on you, and they will exploit it.
    *New Venues
    *Better Commentary
    *Sparring mode is much better.

Also, if you have an HDTV get a PS2 AV & S Video Cable The regular one that comes with
the PS2 is NOTHING compared to the S-video signal.

What really irritates me is the totall false advertisement going on here. They show all these beautyful vids
of boxers and effects, and NONE of that stuff is in the game!!
The slow motion shot of a face rippleing from a punch: Not in the game.
The ability to make Fighters that look real: Not in the game (Unless you count the Pre-made fighters).
They also have picture of Hot ring girls in the Adverts: Not in the game. They looked better in FNR2

I tell you what.... They should make all of their fighters with the Fighter Maker part of the game. If they
can make all those boxers using that method, THEN they can sell this crap. I had 4 friends try to
create themselves in the game, and we could get close (as in: They looked Asian, or Black with dreds, etc).
But there was no way to get our charactors to look like any of us exactly. The boxers that are pre-made,
all have tatoos all over the place. They all have chest hair, back hair, forarm hair, etc. They have chins,
and face shapes that you just can not get with the Fighter Creation tools.
    This is unforgivable!

A must have for any boxing fan.5
I'm not a hard core gamer. I won a PS3 in a contest and purchased this primarily because I'm a big boxing fan.
This game takes some practice to use the controls effectively and button mashing will not help. When I first loaded the game I couldn't get past the first or second round against any fighter without getting KO'd. As such I found the game quite frustrating. However the more I learned to use the various intricate controls, the more I enjoyed it. Now, this game is one of my favorites.
The game is challenging. The graphics are fantastic, especially on a HDTV. The gameplay is incredibly realistic. Matching up differnt fighters with different styles, strengths, and weaknesses, makes for endless fight possibilities. The 'get in the ring' (only on the PS3 version) is particularly engaging.
I have read complaints about the load times on this game, but they don't seem to be any longer than most other games and don't seem to bother me.
Joe Tessitore serves as the ringside announcer in the game. At least initially this is quite fun because his voice brings the feel of a real fight on ESPN. However, once you've fought a few fights, you've heard most everything he has to say and it starts to get redundant. EA Sports is definitely on the right track using the voice of an actual ESPN boxing analyst, but it future versions I hope they include a wider variety of things to be said, and also additional personalities. It would be great, for example, to hear Tessitore's television counterpart Teddy Atlas chime in during the fight. Or during a heavyweight bout, it would be great to hear commentary from the voice of Lennox Lewis or Mike Tyson.
The game does have areas which can be improved in future releases, but all in all it a great game and by far the best boxing game I've ever seen.

    Very little to complain about!4
Ok Here are some pros and cons
    PROS
1.Very life like boxers. signiture moves were pretty damn cool i must say.
2.The sweat beads and and facial expression looks so real.
3.Game play is pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
4.The sound of the fighting is really clear such as foot movement spit flying out of the mouth.
5.Great game to play with a friend and talk smack on. lol

    CONS
1.Slow loading time when trying to create a boxer. Like changing hair,shoes,gloves,etc...
2.I really didn't think EA Sports took there time on some very easy detail such as the people in the backround. They all look like ps2 people. Ps3 is much more capable of better backround graffics.

Overall this is a great game and i would say go get it!

    Winner by a knockout5
My 16 year old son loves this game. The graphics are unbelievably great, at times it looks almost like live action. You can see beads of sweat on their lifelike-looking skin. Definitely a game to own, not just rent. Worth the money. A real winner!

    New Physics Engine
Featuring a dramatically improved physics engine, Fight Night Round 4 brings players closer to the sweet science than ever before. Through these upgrades fighters are rendered more vividly than ever and action is animated as it happens, meaning that not only are no two rounds the same, but no two punches are the same either. This variety in punches is most evident at the point of impact, where players will see everything from the sweat splatter of devastating shots, to the energy-sucking effects of solid body blows and the virtual lack of impact glancing blows may have on a determined opponent. But when enough of any punches land the damage system built into the new physics system will allow players to clearly see the impact on opponents exactly when and where you hit them. A bloody nose or lip, a cut or swelling over the eye, a bruised forehead or shoulder; players will see them all, and it's their choice whether to take advantage and go for the stoppage.

In addition, the improved physics also makes for a significantly faster gameplay experience. Along with the game's controller and overall movement tweeks this allows player's to string together punches into devastating combinations. Although a single punch still has the potential to take down a rival, just as in real boxing match, combinations and the ability to avoid them are the key in Fight Night Round 4.

    Height, Reach and Styles Matter
As in real boxing, where height and reach have advantages and disadvantages depending on your opponent and your skill, Fight Night Round 4 forces players to use their fighters' physical characteristics and styles to their advantage, or suffer the consequences. these consequences come by way of fighters ability to now fight effectively in close, as well as from a distance. For example, shorter fighters are often faster than taller opponents and tend to do better on the inside against taller fighters, but they must get inside first. If they choose to fight at a distance, the advantage is lost. Similarly, height and the assumed longer reach that goes with it is a sizable advantage, but only if a fighter "fights tall," that is stand up straight and utilizes the jab and other punches to maintain the optimal distance to from opponent that allows him to hit and not be hit in return. Slouch and/or abandon the jab, and the reach advantage is lost.

New Heads Up Display Adds Blocking Ability
In addition to the traditional Heads Up Display (HUD), which has always provided Fight Night players with a visual representation of the changing health and stamina or their fighters, Fight Night Round 4 adds blocking to its HUD. Designed to both provide an ongoing way to monitor your fighter's ability to defend himself when not punching and facilitate action during rounds by encouraging players to develop additional defensive and offensive skills, blocking is yet another realistic addition introduced by Fight Night Round 4. When players lose the ability to block punches they can not avoid punches thrown by opponents and must go on the offensive or take the punches. Blocking ability, as well as health and stamina can be replenished between rounds by assigning points accumulated for action in the ring to any of the three physical states/abilities.

    Roster of Fighters
Fight Night Round 4 features a large roster of fighters from multiple eras and weight classes. Made up of more than 40 fighters this elite group provides players with the ability to not only relive past and current rivalries, but to also create new ones across time to solve the question of who is really the greatest of all time. Just a few of the fighters that players can expect to take into the ring include: Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Roy Jones Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Lennox Lewis, Sugar Ray Leonard, Winky Wright, Eddie Chambers, Ricky Hatton, James Toney.

    Key Game Features:

  • Physics Based Gameplay Engine - No fight will be the same with an all-new physics-based gameplay engine that recreates the full spectrum of true-to-life punch impacts, giving boxers a devastating arsenal of punches, blocks and ring movement. the new physics system allows for missed punches, glancing punches, knockout blows and for the first time ever, rough and tumble inside fighting.
  • Realistic Boxer Styles - Fight Night Round 4 emulates the styles of history’s greatest boxers like never before. Pressure your opponent with the brawling inside style of young Mike Tyson, bobbing and weaving to set up powerful hooks and uppercuts. Capitalize on Muhammad Ali’s reach, hand speed and fleetness of foot to bewilder your opponent with lightning fast jabs and straights from the outside.
  • Extensive Boxer Roster - the greatest of all time, fighting in their prime. Fight Night Round 4 lets you create fantasy matchups, such as Tyson versus Ali, and finally settle who is king of the ring. With a boxer roster spanning both history and modern times, the matchup possibilities are endless.
  • Online Support Through PlayStation Network - Fight Night Round 4 features full PSN support including 2-player multiplayer options and PlayStation trophies.

  • Legacy Mode
Legacy Mode is Fight Night Round 4's career mode. Through it players develop their fighter from the ground up, starting in amateur competition which progresses into a career as a pro and may even include steps up or down into multiple weight classes to take on new challenges. Within this mode players can either accept the fights made for them, or create their own schedule of opponents. Either way, the goal is to rise in the ranks from contender, to champ, hall of famer, superstar and eventually the greatest ever. To do this players must not only win their bouts, but gain popularity and additional prestigious matches by winning them convincingly.

    Intense Boxing Action5
I'm new to the series so I never got to try the button option I've read so much about. The analog control system is smooth and intuitive and allows you to easily land high, mid and low jabs and other devastating blows with ease . In the heat of the battle you can really get to wailing on your opponent.

With my large hands it takes some practice to get used to pushing the blocking and leaning buttons up top. I tend to forget on occasion and hold my index fingers straight out, mainly because I'm about to fall off the edge of my seat trying to anticipate punches.

I'm a LONG time gamer, and I've got to say this is one of the most intense games I've ever played. It has beautiful graphics, outstanding sound effects and action that doesn't let up. I love when you take a serious hit and your heart starts thumping and your ears start ringing. It's so awesome!

Getting up from a K.O. is serious business as well. You've got to bring yourself up off the floor and maintain your balance while doing so, again in a totally intuitive manner using both analog sticks.

This is the first game which I feel I've got the value of what I paid out of it - and I'm still fairly new to it! It's easy to justify owning a copy of Fight Night Round 4. Highly recommended!

    give it some time4
I have played all of the fight night games including knockout kings, and I have to say that this is the best overall game. I still don't like the new haymaker method although the old one was too easy to perform. On round 3 it was fun to counter and just knock guys heads off, but once you mastered the game it was way to easy to beat anyone. Now it is actually more satisfying when you land a haymaker because it is harder to do. My other gripe is that it is obvious in single player mode that the computer counters you way more than you counter it. I probably pull off 20 perfect counters per fight that go unrewarded. I have to figure that this is again because if you could counter whenever you wanted victories would come to easily. To the people who hate total punch control, i still rememder the first time i used it and hated it. Then a week later fight night was my favorite sports game of all time because OF IT. I promise you that if you give it a chance you will love it. It is the only way to really feel like you are the one throwing the punches. Just put the game on easy until you master it.
As far as graphics I dont have to say anything because they are as good as it has gotten on next gen. There could be more to the legacy mode to make it more of a realistic career experience. I would'nt mind to see real time results of other fights. Somtimes it feels like your fights are the only ones going on. The training games are a little too hard, and i consider myself to be good at the TPC. I simulated the training which of course gives you the minimum stat increase. This bothered me because one of my personal goals is always to be rated 99 in as many categories as possible.
The fighting, of course is the highlight of this game and once you play it enough that is all you care about. You will find yourself skipping through all the things that delay you getting into the ring as quickly as possible. In conclusion, this is simply the best boxing simulation of all time. It is a blast to play. I get into the fights in this game more than I have ever gotten into any game. It makes you feel like you are the one in the screen. I have to quickly remind myself that I actually didnt just knock Mike Tyson out! It is a truly origional gameplay experience that any gamer should experience. Go get it and work on the total punch control and you will love it!

True Fan of FNR3 and total control1
Let me start by saying that I have always been a fan of the FN series and I fell in love with FNR3 even though it has its fair share of glitches. I have always used total control and never enjoyed button mashing but I agree that FNR4 got it backwards this time around. True the graphics look great, the game play is smoother, and there are more fighters, but this game feels like facebreaker. Did EA play this game or just release it. The new total control just makes it easier to throw 100 jabs. You don't need any strategy to play this game because half way through a fight you will find yourself just throwing jabs to keep up with the computer throwing 200 jabs (with no stamina loss). The only good thing this game is good for is watching the computer fight the computer. I never like to rip on a game just because of a new learning curve but this is ridiculous. To get the full control of your fighter you literally have to be pressing and holding all the L&R top buttons and manage to perform an unnatural thumb movement just to throw a weak hook. Everyone who says this game is great is either new to the franchise or just love no stop jabbing for 5 rounds. Come on people... that does not make a game intense and exciting to play unless your 5, but this is just my personal opinon.
