Nice but wears fast
This is a pretty nice controller, bigger than the standard controllers and better for your hands overall. Its functionality is nice and it plays smooth. The glow feature is nice and the 3 AAA batteries powering it last a long time (about three weeks). One problem is it's wireless but it doesn't use the system's Bluetooth, so one of your USB ports has to have a transmitter plugged into it when you use it. Also, the controller starts to wear after about two months - mine being a bad connection with the R2 button because of how much it's used on PS3 games. Because it's not a Bluetooth controller, it does not have any SixAxis capability. It's a good controller while it lasts, but I've switched back to the DualShock after getting sick of having to hammer the R2 button with my finger every time.

And it doesn't necessarily work the first time. Plus there's no way to attach the receiver to the controller, so it's easy for them to get separated / the receiver stick to get misplaced.
Once it's connected, it works fine, but it's not worth the trouble.

PS/3 AV Cable
This cable was purchased to allow our PS/3 to be played on a second TV without disconnecting the AV cable that came with the console from the Primary TV. It is an excellent cable for that purpose. The 10 foot length well suited my setup and the three video options (HD component, S-video, and composite video) provide maxium flexibility. I cannot comment on the HD quality because I am currently only using the S-Video connection. The S-video connection does compare well with other S-video cables.
False! False! False!
Dummy me... The picture tells the story. This cable DID NOT fit our new PS3. Sorry, but this is a PC cable.
Item not as described!!
On the description of this cord it says it is compatible with the XBox 360 AND the PS3. That is not true! It can't be used on the XBox, only the PS3 which is fine because that is why we bought it but we thought we were getting something a bit more universal.
Junk
As the previous reviewer mine died on me after less than 3 days of use. The problem is the 5VDC adapter that comes with it. It died completely and no longer puts out the 5v as checked with a multimeter. Amazon is great as usual about returns and are shipping me a new unit. About the only other solution would be to buy a 5VDC 1800mah power pack of your own to get the unit running again... Other than that the unit looks great and charges relatively fast. The led charge/full indicators are nice. The mood lighting doesn't bother me because it is down low on my entertainment center but if it was up where I could see it it would bother me since the blue led lights up the whole room when its dark and you can't turn it off.
Update:
I just received my replacement unit and it failed as soon as I plugged in the 3rd controller. Upon inspection I noticed that the power supply only provides about 40% of the required amps and pops as soon as it gets overdrawn. I actually heard it pop as I plugged in the 3rd controller. Dreamgear needs to supply the correct power supply for these units. See my picture for the proof.
Faulty power supply
as the other two reviews before me, the power adapter was fried. For me within 5 mins of use....I walked away and then when I looked the dock was no longer illuminated and the burnt smell was even getting our cat's attention. I did not want to deal being without the charge dock, nor dealing with added waits on returning and possibly receiving ANOTHER faulty power adapter...SO i purchased a replacement at Radio Shack which cost me $32. So whatever Amazon charges for this item, add another $32 if you want it to actually work. Now with the new one from radio shack the dock works like a dream and keeps all 4 of my controllers charged. Handy when wanting to play a 4 player game with 3 friends.
Junk times two
Sent the first one back because it shorted right away. Got the replacement, and just like the other reviewers stated, it fried too. Crap product, I would advise to amazon to remove from their product list.
Worst Item Ever
I have been using the item, bought at the store not through amazon.com, and it broke within a week. Totally urialbe at times, and the ps3 sometimes wont even regonize the item at points.

Decent Design, Failed Implementation, Disgusting Customer Service
I bought this controller for Killzone 2 and liked it well enough. Coming from the ergo-awesome 360 controller, I needed something a little less wrist twisting than the DS3. For the 10 or so hours I used the controller, it seemed quite nice. However, something happened.
For whatever reason, my controller started vibrating without any input. I tried to reset the controller, but it continued to vibrate. I even let the batter completely wear down for a good week and still, when I charged it back up, it started vibrating again.
Normally, I wouldn't worry about it since this type of issue should be covered under a warranty. However, as soon as I contacted customer service at DreamGear, I was played like a fiddle.
Not only do they not stand behind their products, but the inner-most workings of this thing must be quite sub-par for it to just start vibrating for no reason and THEN not be able to remedy it.
In summary, the controller design is nice. However, whats the point of a controller if it doesn't work and if the manufacturer doesn't support their products. DreamGear has failed in my eyes and I hope no one else makes the mistake of buying their less-than-worthless products.
Comfortable but inaccurate
Other reviews here are accurate. The performance of the analog sticks just don't cut it. They go from low to high way to quick with barely any room for a "medium". Bought this guy mostly because the PS3 controller was killing my thumbs along with my 5 year old having issues reaching the sticks comfortably. Thought the Shadow was the answer because the 360 controller is by far superior in ergonomics (got a PS3 for Bluray). I did a side by side comparison with the Shadow and SixAxis controller and came away with a new appreciation for the Sixaxis. Control with the Shadow is clunky and inaccurate at best resulting in some frustrating game play. Why somebody can't make a good 360 style controller for the PS3 is beyond me. The company that does sure will make a killing. The Shadow will be returned to Best Buy.
Great controller!
The Good:
- This controller feels great in my hands. I like how the left analog stick and the d-pad locations are swapped. Biggest selling point for me as I prefer it for most of the games I play. I've got nothing against the Dualshock 3(great for SF4).
- The quality of this controller is top notch. The rubber exterior feels good.
- The sticks and buttons feel great. The sticks have a good resistance to them. Not too loose and not too hard.
- Built in rechargeable battery is very nice. Recharges like the DS3. Battery lasts for dozens of hours(haven't timed it yet).
- Good wireless connectivity. Can sit up to about 25-30 ft away.
The Not-so-good:
- The "enhanced" triggers on this controllers aren't really enhanced. Sure they curve out instead in curving in but the travel distance is half of the DS3. On some games, you have to press them all the way down to register the press.
- There is no Sixaxis controls so you'll have to switch controllers for games that utilize Sixaxis controls.
- I wish it was Bluetooth. Can't start up the PS3 by pressing the "Home" button.
- Clicking down on the sticks is louder than most controllers(Just me being nitpicky).
- The USB receiver is a bit too big for my liking. Again, me nitpicking.
- D-pad isn't that great. Not as good as the DS3 but better than the 360 d-pad.
- I wish the tops of the analog stick were concave(360) instead of convex(DS3).
Overall, a great alternative for those who prefer the 360 layout to the DS3. Highly recommended.
