Great Game!
As I am a huge fan of BFBC1, COD4MW and CODMW2, I will not make direct comparisons. They are all great in their own way. I will say that this game is a bigger improvement from BC1, than MW2 is from MW1...if that means anything to you.

The graphics are a less "cartoon-ish", for lack of a better word.

The controls are better IMO, but you change them back to BC1 if you'd like.

There are more upgrades/attachments available, along with a unique way to mix and match them to your liking.

Something I like a lot is the effect gravity has on snipers firing over long distances. It's the first game (that I know of) where the mil dots in the scope are needed to snipe. You will also have to lead your target, just like in BC1.

Huge maps, like BC1

Destructable buildings, tree, etc., like BC1.

Firing rifles in full auto is more realistic. In BC1 there wasn't much climb or wander when firing in full auto.

I would recommend it to any one looking for the closest simulation of warfare in a video game. It incorporates squad teamwork, vehicles, armor, airstrikes and much more. This creates an environment where the run-and-gun Rambo types, just get owned...I love it!

A challenger to the COD Throne?
Quick backround on me - I'm an avid console FPS player. I achieved top 1% once and top 6% for 3 solid months on Killzone. I've gotten my kill rank as high as 91000 on MW2 (good enough for top 2%). I also played a fair amount of Resistance. I LOVE COD:MW2. I love the graphics, the speed, the twitch reflexes required to be good. I also do not play the single player games, so my review is aimed specifically at the online portion. I will say the 2 hours spent on the single player were very fun and the graphics phenominal (noticeably better than multiplayer). I also play with a clan that has carried over several games, that also weighs into my opinion. Finally, I played both the BETA and the DEMO, and about 48 hours online in, so I have a fair amount of experience with BFBC 2 .

Based on DICE & EA's own admission, they are aiming to be the best, better than COD specfically. Do they succeed? Yes and no. Here is my comparison/opinion:

Play is class based - Recon, Medic, Assault and Engineer. As you play as each character, their specific abilities are unlocked and enhanced. The leveling is slow. Unlike MW2 where getting hot could mean 2000xp and a quick couple of levels. Not so in Battlefield. You will need to play and play well as one class for an extended period to really get into the meat of the characters. You can customize your player, but not in the same fashion MW2. Edge: Draw

Modes include Rush, Capture the Flag, Squad Deathmatch and Gold Rush. The HUGE advantage BFBC 2 has over MW2 is that playing like a one man army is useless and you will probably lose. You CAN do it, but camping and playing as a lone wolf simply do not work in BFBC. Again, a stark contrast to MW2, the maps are enormous. And that is putting it lightly. Squading up is imperative if you want to move quickly across the map (and spawn with a squadmate). Edge: BFBC

Mechanics - The players move in a similiar fashion to COD:MW, i.e., like the player is on skates. This is in contrast to Killzone that moves more like Saving Private Ryan. The guns feel good, but do not have a weighty feel to them. The player can run for days and jump abnormally high. The bullets have drop at long range, wich is awesome. As opposed to a wobbly reticle, you have to aim based on distance to the target. You don't get much of a notice when you are getting hit or hit someone, and getting killed can be a bit jarring and abrubt. Players can regain health, but slowly, so as a sniper, you can get those one shot kills, especially if you snipe behind your tank. Speaking of vehicles. They are tide changer and vital part of winning the game you are playing. We're talking choppers, tanks, humvees and quadrunners. As far as the actual shooting goes, MW2 still just feels better, but that is going to be a strict opinion, as both work just fine. Edge: Draw

Matchmaking - It's easy to jump into a squad and more importantly, hook up with friends. You can customize the map you play and all of the modes. The game also plays on dedicated servers supported by EA. Again, big edge: BFBC.

Graphics / Sound - This is going to be very much debated. I like how COD and KZ looks. BUT - Battlefield has vehicles, 24 players, 10 maps that dwarf COD and KZ's maps and the big enchilada - fully destructable environments. Like the tanks your in, they change the game. If a sniper thinks he's going to camp, think again. The building he's in or tree he's behind will eventually fall. Near the end of some matches, the level of destruction is incredible. If you are a pure graphics fiend, youll probably think it's ugly, if you love the size, scope and destructability, you'll prefer BFBC. As far as sound - COD is like a Bruckheimer movie, BFBC is like Saving Private Ryan. More pops and thumps. Every gun in COD sounds like a cannon (which I love with my Turtlebeach P21 Headphones). Edge: Draw

Overall - I personally prefer the gameplay of COD:MW2 by a wide margin over BFBC 2. However, if you've spent any time with MW2, you know it's full of lone wolves, campers, cheaters and glitchers. The matchmaking is inferior, clan support is nill and playing with friends online is very difficult because of constant drops. Playing as a team is paramount to having a good time on BFBC, and there in lies the rub. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I'm afraid the game will not have that pick up and play, jump right in replayability that COD:MW2 has. Ginormous maps played with strangers not playing together could end up being just as bad (or worse) than the faults of MW2. At the end of the day, I like the overall idea of BFBC2 BETTER than MW2, but narrowly. Time will tell where the support from players lies and the longevity of the game.

War that was born to be bad!!!!
What sets this game far apart from others are the sounds and the sound quality. The selection of weapons and vehicles is unheard of in this game. Unlockable weapons and gadgets to help you out in the long run when you get tired of the same ole stuff. I played one game just to test everything and when a rocket is blazing past you you can hear it take its cycle from shooting towards you to hitting you or going past you if your lucky. My fav one is when they blaze past you and blow a chunk out of a building causing massive shrapnel and debris to fly everywhere. You also get the wonderful sounds of bullets hitting metal and wood as they are fired a suspecting enemies gun. The maps are unreal and so fun to play. This is where Call of Duty falls short, VEHICLES!!!!! How can Activision go so low as to take out Vehicles in a War game? I must mention also the fact that unlike Call of Duty you have a dedicated server for all your online needs. The single player campaign really blew me away. The first mission was all i have played and im hooked. The distant WWII sirens going off and the humor and action are what sets the single player game apart. You dont need a motion sensor on your gun or a care package delivered to have fun. From snowy mountain areas to industrial plants you have it all in one game. Congrats EA and DICE. Job well done

Why so great
This game is awesome so many reasons. First, it's the first game to allow massive destruction of map structures. Instead of chasing someone around a building, just blow down the walls with your M203 launcher and cut him of or just blow him up while you take down the wall. Second, the use of vehicles is well balanced out with regular on-foot fighting. The involement of vehicles to this game doesn't make someone using the vehicle that much more better well of than someone not using, as I mentioned before is well balanced. Third, the ability to choose classes mid game is a plus. You can go from sniping across the map (which you CAN do) to assalting a defended building while as the right equipment, plus you can always pick up some dead guys equipment pack of the ground. Either way anyone who loves first person shooters while get tons of fun out of this game. Welcome to Bad Company soldier!

B Company Welcome to the 222nd Army battalion, B-company. This is where the Army rakes together all the insubordinates, hellraisers and troublemakers that won’t fit in any other unit. When the Rangers and Deltas are too expensive to waste, these guys are the first ones in. They’re called “Bad Company”; a mismatched bunch of rejects selected to serve their country as cannon fodder. This isn’t the kind of outfit a lot of soldiers would join voluntarily. Getting transferred to “the B” is a punishment and a way for the generals to put all their rotten eggs in one basket. No one starts out in Bad Company. But for some, this is where they end up.

For a change, this frostbite is very enjoyable.
DICE Sweden has produced one amazing engine. They already have mastered the gameplay in past games. The new frostbite engine is as good as it gets for FPS. After playing for a couple of hours, it is impossible to play other FPS like COD4. Why bother to climb up to take down the sniper, when you can take down the tower with a RPG. There is no annoying boundaries, every thing can be opened up. When the map is not rigid it is lot more fun to play.

It is easy for anyone appreciate the video quality. Iam more amazed by the engines audio strength. Every gun, explosion, terrain sounds unique. Even the sound transition of passing vehicles in combat is reproduced impeccably.

The game is very accessible too. With lot of respawn points, it is easy to get along when you make a mistake.

I like the witty British/Swedish writing. Story line and the twist is very well handled. This game will be a strong contender for FPS of the year.

This Is A Really Fun Game.
Battlefield: Bad Company is a fun game to play. Right away I noticed the game has probably the best sounds of combat I have ever heard in a game. From the sounds of weapons firing to the sounds of armored vehicles running, the game is great to listen to. The sounds of mortar shells coming down and exploding around you is just unbelievable. When I walk through forests and fields, I can actually hear the sounds of birds chirping, dogs barking, and cows mooing.

The graphics in the game are just great too. I love looking at the water in streams and rivers. It looks very real. The forests and villages in this Eastern European setting are really beautiful to look at in this game.

I like how you can jump in different vehicles to drive around in and there is a car radio in the vehicle to listen to while you are driving around. There are several different radio stations to listen to. I love the music in this game.

The AI in this game is pretty smart. When enemy soldiers see me, they immediately run and hide behind something. They have try to out flank me and they have tried to sneaked behind me a few times. I love the part where a enemy soldier runs into a building to hide from you and you can use your weapon to blow a good size hole into a building to waste the enemy soldier. It is also so much fun to just take your weapon and shoot down all the trees that enemy soldiers are hiding behind. You can do so much damage to the terrain with your weapons in this game.

The maps to this game are huge. The maps are ten times bigger than the maps to Call of Duty 4. I love the sandbox settings to this game where you can go any where on the maps.

I highly recommend getting this game. Battlefield: Bad Company is a fun game to play and the game has a lot of replay value to it.

Break Stuff!
I heard this was going to be great, so I got it right away. I'm pleased to report it is as fantastic as people expected. You can destroy everything in your sight! You can drive tanks and jeeps and helicopters, everything. The online mode is smooth and easy compared to MGS4. Makes COD4 seem dumb for not having rumble, destructible environments or vehicles. There's going to be a lot of action on the Bad Co servers this summer! Get in on it!

01/01/09: I have to say, I have gotten a bunch of games since this one, and I had a lot before I got this one. I have 11 or 12 games for PS3. Hands down, this is still my favorite game and I highly recommend it at this new low price. This is the BEST game for PS3 and you must have it. Do not hesitate. You couldn't spend $30 towards your system and get more for the money! I still have not played the actual game portion of this. I play ranked quickmatches and that's so satisfying I haven't even tried the story. Also, they added a capture the flag type multiplayer version to it and I haven't even tried that! The ranked quickmatch is worth the money alone. This game is awesome. Get it!

Is it Better Than Call of Duty 4? Hell Yeah.
Battlefield: Bad Company is probably the best FPS I've ever played. It brings a whole new mechanic into multiplayer with the ability to blow through walls, and has a huge selection of weapons that each have their own advantages.

Graphics: A. I'm not sure if the framerate is better then CoD4's 60 frames per second but all the animations are great and the explosions look very realistic.

Sound: A+. Best in any game. Period. From the shots from a machine gun to the clanking of bullet shells on the ground, this game has the best sound effects in any game. You will even notice how your footsteps echo while you're in small rooms.

Single Player: A. The main focus of the Bad Company campaign seems to just try to make you laugh. Although there is nothing funny about war, your squadmates will shout out hilarious one-liners and the cutscenes are even better. As for the story, it just seemed like a last-minute idea that the developers threw into the game. It's not a bad story, just not an epic one like in the Metal Gear Solid Series.

Multiplayer: A+. The multiplayer in Bad Company makes up for not having a two-player splitscreen or co-op. You fight on battlefields inspired by the campaign levels. There are two teams, attackers or defenders, and each on has to destroy or protect gold crates. The maps are huge, and you have a 3D mini-map that displays the objectives and where your friends are. With the ability to blow through walls, the game is entirely changed. Instead of shooting at a far away sniper with your assault rifle, how about your blow up the whole building he is hiding in. Or if a doorway is too well guarded, take out an RPG and make your own door. And with the new squad spawn (you can spawn with one of your teammates instead of back at your base), one attacker can become four in a second and the defenders will have to deal with that many more people. In addition, multiplayer matches always have great connection, being disconnected is practically unheard of.

Classes: There are 5 player classes who each have their own advantages, and here is a quick summary of them:

Assault: Use a quick firing and accurate gun to kill enemies. If you get shot, you have an infinite life source that you can use repeatedly. Disadvantages of assault: assault players don't really have a way of killing vehicles, despite the grenade launcher which is too weak to take down a tank.

Demolition: Use a powerful shotgun at close range to kill your enemies with one shot. You can also plant mines for tanks, or you can shoot them with an RPG. Disadvantages of demolition: the RPG will shoot far away, but there is no actual way to take down enemies from afar.

Recon: Use a sniper to take out far away enemies. If a tank or any other vehicle is threatening you, use a laser designator to target the vehicle and steer an air strike towards your target. Disadvantages of recon: even though your pistol is powerful, it can't stand up to an assault rifle or shotgun at close range.

Specialist: Use a gun with an extremely high rate of fire to quickly and quietly take out your enemy. You also have a tracer gun the can point out enemy vehicles to the demolitionists on your team. Also you have C4 which can be thrown and then remotely detonated, which is great for defending key points. Disadvantages of specialist: None really, except to take down a tank you have to walk right up to it to plant the C4, but other than that in my opinion it is the most well-rounded class. Many would say assault is well-rounded, but they can heal themselves which is really helpful.

Support: The medics, but don't get me wrong these guys are dangerous. Use a machine gun to mow down your enemies. You can repair vehicles and heal teammates for massive amounts of points. Also you can call in an airstrike and kill many enemies without getting your hands dirty. Disadvantages of support: None. With the ability to heal yourself and your teammates, and to keep a steady stream of bullets on your enemy while they reload their guns, support could easily be the best class. If only more people on my team chose to be them, I wouldn't have to hide in a corner after losing virtually all my health from an sniper shot or an RPG.

Well, so much for keeping it short and sweet. But I really think this much information is needed when you decide to buy a game. I could go on and on, but this should give you a nice taste of the game.

As fun as Call of Duty 4!
I hear a lot that people who like COD4 are looking for a new online shooter and this is the next best thing out there.

I will say for one COD4 is a faster pace game but the things you can do are endless on Bad Company.

The sound and graphics are amazing! and the story mode is funny, long, and a lot different than any other war game I have ever played before.

Online is a lot of fun also, the maps are big and theirs no laggy rooms or rooms the get closed like on COD4.

If your getting this game for the Online get the Gold edition, you get 5 guns that really helps you out online wise. If your not going to play it online just get the $[...] normal game.

The only thing I wish this game had was a way to do stuff with like a clan, things based on doing stuff with clans. Other than that I give this game 5 stars {Online and Off} not just cuase I bout it, becuase it really deserves 5 stars.

This Is A Really Fun Game.
Battlefield: Bad Company is a fun game to play. Right away I noticed the game has probably the best sounds of combat I have ever heard in a game. From the sounds of weapons firing to the sounds of armored vehicles running, the game is great to listen to. The sounds of mortar shells coming down and exploding around you is just unbelievable. When I walk through forests and fields, I can actually hear the sounds of birds chirping, dogs barking, and cows mooing.

The graphics in the game are just great too. I love looking at the water in streams and rivers. It looks very real. The forests and villages in this Eastern European setting are really beautiful to look at in this game.

I like how you can jump in different vehicles to drive around in and there is a car radio in the vehicle to listen to while you are driving around. There are several different radio stations to listen to. I love the music in this game.

The AI in this game is pretty smart. When enemy soldiers see me, they immediately run and hide behind something. They have try to out flank me and they have tried to sneaked behind me a few times. I love the part where a enemy soldier runs into a building to hide from you and you can use your weapon to blow a good size hole into a building to waste the enemy soldier. It is also so much fun to just take your weapon and shoot down all the trees that enemy soldiers are hiding behind. You can do so much damage to the terrain with your weapons in this game.

The maps to this game are huge. The maps are ten times bigger than the maps to Call of Duty 4. I love the sandbox settings to this game where you can go any where on the maps.

I highly recommend getting this game. Battlefield: Bad Company is a fun game to play and the game has a lot of replay value to it.

Why so short?
If you are a Tim Schafer fan, this game is everything you hoped it would be... except for one nasty little surprise. The single-player campaign is a measly 6 hours (and that's being generous). I'm not a multiplayer kind of person - and if you share that sentiment, wait until this one drops in price. Once it's under $30 or so, it'll be worth every penny. Right now though, I felt a little cheated paying full price for half of a game.

Outside of that though, this game is all-around hardcore awesome! If you like multiplayer or don't mind the SHORT singleplayer campaign, then buy this now! Otherwise, you may want to wait a bit for a price drop.

Fun while it lasts.
Brutal Legend is everything it was hyped to be, which is an extreme rarity in the world of video games. It's fun, it's clever, it's well written, it's pretty, it sounds great. What it is not, however, is long. While every element of the game ranges from enjoyable to fantastic, reaching the end in fewer than six hours was more than a little anti-climactic, and detracted fairly seriously from my overall opinion of the title.

There are numerous side quests scattered throughout the world (and the world IS open--roam all you like to kill time), and the six hour timer doesn't include those--fair is fair; I could've gotten more time out of the game. The problem there, though, is that most of the side quests are carbon copies of other side quests--to such an extent that if you take a look at them, they're using the exact same name and objectives.

I would sincerely recommend the game to anyone prepared to pay full price for a game they can finish in two sittings (or one marathon). Anyone else, though, I'm afraid ought to wait for a price reduction, or rent. It pains me to say it--I really wanted to love Brutal Legend--but it's true. I'll be trading it in (which I virtually never do), and repurchasing when it hits bargain bins.

Bang yer head... maybe into a wall
This game is artistically and stylistically beautiful. And because it comes on bluray disc the HD sequence in the beginning looks fantastic. The game is more than decent. What is annoying is from time to time the camera's do odd things that make it difficult to do some moves.

Its apparent that from the very beginning that you will have to remember a bunch of special moves. They do a good job building this training into the narrative of the story. What really doesn't work for me is the overall game play.

Yes, it looks awesome, and is fantastic to go into the album covers of my youth. However, when it gets to the game play and doing moves with others that are supposed to assist you, it is often hard to pull off, not in a you suck and cant do it hard, but in the WHY WONT THIS WORK sort of way. I can abide some minor frustration game play, sometimes this game has more than tolerable issues with movement or fighting. This level of frustration ruins all of the fantastic artwork, open world, and even the excellent narration.

About the narration:
Jack Black is really funny with the context specific comments. He comes at this from the viewpoint of a monster roadie that has been stuck doing a boy band for some time. He is set free when he is killed by the massive stage set. Kind of weird; when did New Kids on the Block ever have a metal god as their stage set. Anyway, from this beginning Jack Black takes you on a journey that is both interesting and funny.

It is a very well made game, just needs some help with the controls. This may be patched at some point so keep tuned, seems like it is fixable. As it stands its a pain in the buttocks.

Addictive and a High-Speed, BURNOUT BLAST
Look. I'll break it down for you:

Do you like to race cars in video games?
Do you like to see cars crash, explode, flip, and disintegrate?

That's all you need to absolutely fall in love with this game.

Some people complain about computer cars that throw themselves at you. Hello? It's a videogame! I suspect that those complainers simply don't know how to play the game to avoid these cars.

As for the music and the DJ, guess what? You can turn them off if you don't like them.

But AI cars and punk music are not the reasons to love this game. The real star of the game is the ULTRA-realistic crash animations. I swear, you will never get bored of watching these cars crash. Sparks fly, fenders pop off, hoods crumple, and cars split in two in the most amazing animated crashes you will EVER see.

I highly recommend this game. Is it the best RACING game out there? No. But it's not about the racing. It's about watching things blow up, going really fast, and not taking this too seriously.

Have fun and buy this game!

Great Game!
This is by far the best game in the Burnout series. I have all three. This game is great especially since EA decided to help produce this one. You get all of the special features of a big name game company (like actual songs from actual artists and online play) while still enjoying the simple fun of a small brand game. Don't get me wrong this game is very complex, but the idea is the same, do the best crashes and finish first. I know some people are complaining about the lousy soundtrack, and I partailly agree. Some of the songs are pretty good (like the ones by Jimmy Eat World and New Found Glory) but most of them are stupid garage punk rock bands that don't know the first thing about music. The other downside is that stupid Striker announcer guy. The graphics are great, but like some of the other reviewers noted, it's not the ultra-realistic gran turismo graphics, but they are still one of the better PS2 games for graphics. Oh and there is soo much more stuff to this game. 100 crash junctions, 40 levels, almost 60 cars and thats just the start of. It also comes preloaded with the Need For Speed Underground 2 demo, and it seems like a pretty good game. Overall Burnout 3 is highly addicting and fun.

Like Burnout 2... and a whole lot more!
I spent over 100 hours of play time on Burnout 2. I couldn't stop trying new ideas for the crash modes. I kept trying to beat my old times on the races. Sure I'd get gold, but could I get all the races done without crashing?? It just couldn't get any better. Then comes Burnout 3. I'd been following the trailers for a while and now with the demo release.... well, the release date just can't come soon enough. I'll play my demo over and over till then. The graphics are awe-inspiring. The 'turbo' button also works as a slow-motion button during the crashes. Sparks and particle effects, broken glass, even paint flecks... it's fantastic! You'll find yourself crashing on purpose. I'm sure that the crash mode will be available again. Where it is THE goal to drive into intersections to cause as much damage as possible. I'll probably get the Xbox release version vice the PS2, but it's the same control feel of Burnout 2 that I'm familiar with. Go to the homepage and check the trailers if you want more as well.
