    DBZ Budokai 34
I am in the army in Japan right now and I have played DBZ Budokai 3 and let me tell you, it's awsome. It hasa similar story mode to the Budokai 1 and the same graphics as Budokai 2 and it also has some extra modes that i have no idea what they are because the're in Japanese but they are prety cool and there is one mode where you can make your own melee or ki attack in which you can choose the color of the beam which character knows it how strong it is and all sorts of stuff and the characters include Goku,Vegeta,Kid Gohan,Teen Gohan,Adult Gohan,Kid trunks,Teen Trunks,Adult Trunks,Kid Goten,Teen Goten,Vegeto,Gogeta,Gotenks,Picollo,Krillin,Tien,Yamcha,Videl,Hurcule,Great Saiyaman,Supreme Kai,Raditz,Nappa, everyone in the ginyu force, all forms of frieza,DR, Gero, Android 16,17,18,19, al forms of cell, cell junior,Garlic junior, salt, pepper, mustard, ketchup, all forms of buu, baby, and more that i forgot their names. But overall this game is the best DBZ game to ever come out so far so get this game!

    A fun simple fighting game5
Of all the Dragon Ball Z fighting games the Budokai series has always been easily the best. With simple responsive controls and fast paced action, and of course the crazy energy attacks, this stands above the first two as the best of the lot.

The story mode is vastly improved over last years title in that it not only follows the story, but allows you to develop your character (limited to the main Z hero's not villians or hidden) and unlock all sorts of hidden goodies as well as the natural progression of attacks and skills. The difficulty in story mode of course fluctuates and some times forces you to take time to strengthen your character (at randomly placed Battle Zones which range from Saibamen to Meta Cooler). Also at certain points in story mode (usually the second + time through with a certain character) you can sometimes branch away from the saga and do a movie battle of sorts (after you beat Frieza the first time but before Goku goes Super Sayin you can face off against Cooler instead). However this leads to complaint #1. During the key story moments instead of a cool cutscene we get this almost story book form instead that is really uncool.

The controls are identical with a few new improvements. The first is in order to make the action faster you can teleport behind your foe and hit but only if he attacks you first (a counter basically) as well go into hyper mode (all energy at once) which then allows you to unleash your most devastating attacks, which leads me to complaint #2. When doing the ultimate attacks it's either fastly speeding bar which is fairly inaccurate when you click to max it out or a 3 stage attack which increases the odds of you foe succeeding using the X O /\ or []. Most of the time despite being cool and powerful it's more of a pain to unleash than it should be.

Graphically it looks like last years model so if you liked the cell shading great if not tough.

The Voiceovers are great as expected, I found no problems with any of the voices while playing. However the Music is complaint #3. The music is Atari custome midi with little (and I mean very little) to none of the great american tracks that most fans who watch the series state side (not the imported Japanese) get to listen too. So at moments like when Goku first goes Super Sayin 3 it would be great to hear that track from that moment in the series playing. Or any big Vegeta fight have his theme going on.

Despite some of the shortcomings this is truely is a great game worth playing. It easlily destroys the past games and overall is worth picking up. I still say that this is what a 3D streetfighter should be like (or maybe more like the Recent Mortal Kombats it's hard to say).

    Great News for Budokai 35
Three's the charm in this case. I haven't yet played this game, but I have learned that they brought back story mode, however I have no idea what sagas it covers. I think Dragon World is still there but it is no longer a main mode. Of course there still is duel mode which features improved new attacks, much better aura, improved gameplay, and more characters than ever. Such as: Goku,Kid Gohan, Teen Gohan,Adult Gohan,Great Saiyaman,Goten,Teen Goten,Vegeta,Young Trunks,Teen Trunks,Tein,Yamcha,Chosue,Piccolo,Krillian,Raditz,Nappa,Dodoria,Zarbon, Guldo,Recoome,Burter,Jeice,Captain Ginyu,Freeza,King Cold,Dr.Gero,Andriod 16,17,18,19,Cell Jr.s,Cell,Saibamen,Pikkon,Videl,Hercule,Dabura,Majin Buu,Evil Buu,Super Buu,Kid Buu,Broly,Cooler,Bardock,King Vegeta,Garlic Jr.,all the Spice Boys, and some GT characters.
Tournament mode has been tweaked, and other modes have been added.Babidi's Spaceship has been eliminated. In one of the new modes you can customise your characters energy, stregth, speed, and so on. So far Budokai 3 looks to be 5 times more complete than the first two combined. I will write a new preview when I find more significant information.

Good but this game and the previous game are in a tie4
I bought this game a day before it's actual release date and I must say it's a good game. The thing is, well, it's missing some important elements that made the previous game so good. I think in a way that this is Budokai 3 (not this game) over again. If you don't know to much of these games, I will give you a brief history. The 1st Budokai sold well, but the critics hated it (and some of the stuff in that game was kind of cheesy and bad.) so then a year later, the 2nd Budokai came out. The game was not only better than the first one but it had the memorable board game story mode (which was cool and kind of different since these games were mainly for fans of the series and didn't want to see the same crap over and over again) and the graphics were much better looking for the series. Then Budokai 3 came out. The graphics didn't change much and the battle system was kind of the same but went in a further direction to make it look more like the show. The board game story mode was taken out and replaced with the Dragon World (later seen in Budokai Tenkaichi 2) and when a cut scene came along, the characters more like talking heads before the battle started. Then the 1st Tenkaichi game came out and the battle system changed entirely. Unlike the other games before it, it was like Power Stone and a 3rd person shooter mixed. The game didn't have the skill capsules, so they were replaced with status upgraders and the characters had permenant moves. Sadly, this game had (for me anyways) some characters that had moves that totally suck A##! SS4 Goku's most powerful skill was the 10X Kamehameha Wave. So what was his regular move set? the 1st one was energy ball blasts and the other one was the explosive wave. SS3 Goku suffered the same fate as SS4 Goku. By the way your characters couldn't transform (you had to select a character and their form like if I picked Goku, I had to select his Base form or one of his Super Saiyan Forms). Story mode sucked too. It's like Budokai 1's story mode. Anyway to continue on, the 2nd Tenkaichi game was not only a massive improvement to the first one, it was Best of E3 runner-up of 2006 (Mortal Kombat Armageddon was fighting game of the year). Characters can transform, you can place status potoras (earrings) on your character and even level up the character. the Graphics were awesome, Story Mode was like Budokai 3's Dragon World mode. Character moves improved this time. A new Soundtrack was given into the game (instead of hearing the same crap from other previous games) the thing was their was so much to do in that game and not get bored with it for several Months. Then this game came out. I was so excited to play as GT little Goku and a bunch of other characters (Dr Wheelo is in this game by the way.). The move set changed slightly. the thing is that the story mode is more like Budokai 1 and BT1. That sucks. And it's to short, I am already at 65% of the story mode already.

Anyway here's the pros and cons of this game:

    Pros:

    - GT Little Goku is here and other characters that didn't appear in the other games
    - the power struggle (energy blast struggles) system is much better. In the 1st game it only had to be lasers, the 2nd game had both lasers and balls but they couldn't mix. in this game you can use your Kamehameha against the Big Bang attack and have struggles with it.
    - SS4 Vegeta has a laser attack for both a regular and a super (Final Flash and Final Shine)
    - new soundtrack
    - pressing a direction and Square at the same time while performing an energy attack will make your attack stronger
    - If you have a Budokai Tenkaichi 1 or 2 game save (I think this is how it happened) you get the same amount of characters that you got from the other 2.....Look in the con section

    Cons:

    - Exp system gone and replaced by gaining levels to upgrade your potoras bar. so if I gained a level then that means i get an extra space. 7 is your maximum and some skills take up more than 1
    - Story mode it awful (only good thing is that the battles for these chapters are looooonnnnnggggg! fewer chapters means longer fights Without a lot of loading)
    - Dragon Points (which gain your levels for your characters) are tough to get
    - cutscenes are lame (if you have 2 characters talking and then a 3rd will talk but doesn't come into the scene. You can hear voices in your head!)
    - Big Characters can't be attacked by Speed rush attacks
    - .....but some characters Like SS4 Vegeta or Goku from GT or even SS4 Goku aren't there as default characters. You still have to unlock them.

    Both:

    - 5 Gokus are a little too many but only because of A. base form gokus can have their own moves (There are Vegeta saga, Frieza/Cell Saga, Buu Saga, DB saga and of course, GT saga Gokus (GT is kid Goku)) and B. The Creators thought mabye this would be a wise idea so that they can have their customers (players) play a certain Goku that would be right for that saga. in other words, they don't want players to Transform into a SS3 while beating the crap out of Raditz (we've all done that before obviously).

    Conclusion:

This game is awesome but the 2nd one is just about as good. If you have no.2 and have the idea that playing as GT Goku is fun (like me) so you can eventually get 3, keep them both not only for the disc fusion system but also if you get sick of playing this game and want to start a new file in BT2, that can be a good thing. If you have just this one don't get BT2 and If you have no.2 but want to get no.3 rent it first because everything I put on this review is true. It's not that much of an improvement over the previous game. Also If you see this game in the store and looking at the 2nd or 3rd game at the same price (which rarely happens but sometimes it does) get this one or if you see the previous game 10 bucks less than this one just wait a little longer to get some more cash to get it.

this is a fun game, but i thought bio broly was in this game5
I got this game on my birthday november15 and This game is fun but the thing is that they put new characters that don't really belong in here, and most of them i really don't play as, and that should'nt been in this game, characters like arale, babdi, kid chi chi, devilman, saibamen, dr wheelo, hercule, grandpa, pilaf, frieza soildier, cui, yajirobe, nam, chaotzu, android 8, appule, tambourine, and general blue. Those characters really did'nt belong in this game, but the other new characters are great, characters like future gohan, GT kid goku, nail, zangya, nova shenron, spopovich, great saiyawomen, turles, salza, king cold, fasha, kabitoki, king vageta, kid goku, general tao, cyborg tao, and pikkon, those are great new characters. And the old charaters are still great to, like what they did new to goku they put the past goku, middle goku, and future goku, i like how they did that so they seperate different attacks and moves from goku, instead of leaveing him one like they did in the other DBZ games. But i thought that bio broly was going to be in this game that really would had been great if he was, but thats okay he will probly be in DBZ burst limit i can't wait untill that comes out on xbox360 iam going to be playing people online and haveing fun like i always do, but this is a great game. There was nothing wrong with the storymode it was fine and fun it was'nt long like tenkaichi2 storymode was, tenkaichi2's storymode was to long and there was parts of the storymode that really did'nt make any seanse, but this game is better. I unlocked all the stages and i have only two more characters to unlock, and the characters are king cold and fasha i will unlocke them but this is a fun game. The stages are better to and great but the penguin village stage i have to say is a joke but its still great, fighting outer space is unique to but they did'nt have to put frieza's space ship there oh well its still fun, planet namek was always a fun place to fight in even in the budokai series games, so this is a fun great game.

    A Step Down...3
If you have Tenkaichi 2, I suggest you rent this one before you buy it. This title might have more characters, and more stages, which I admit are some great perks, but it cut several features that made Tenkaichi 2 a great game.

This game does have some good updates in the AI, as the fighters are more adept at learning your fighting technique, but the graphics haven't gone up much since the last game, as well as a few other little things that add up to making the game somewhat... lacking.

    The Good:
Many characters to choose from. Having over 150 characters does give you the chance to use any character if you liked them in the movies or in the series

Many good stages: good and destructable. That makes for a good fight.

Good Graphics: Haven't gone up much from the second, but still are pretty tight.

Transformations have improved: Tenkaichi 2 introduced transformations to the Tenkaichi name, but they weren't top notch. Tenkaichi 3 offers more realistic (as far as realism in anime/supernatural fighting games go).

    The Bad:
The fight's are all bunched up into 1 little block. You can't win one fight, then lose the other and try and win the second fight again. You must re-start the entire fight sequence if you lose once.

No bonus fights: Tenkaichi 2 offered you the opportunity to fight someone else besides the target for the level, to give you the chance to fight with someone new or earn some extra money or experience: This game doesn't even offer you the ability to fly across a map, which is what made the last 3 games good.

Repeat Characters: This game has 5 Gokus. They have to kid Gokus (Dragon ball and Dragonball GT) as well as 3 adult Gokus (one for the beginning of the series, midway, and end of it), to make it seem like the story followed the way chronologically. I guess they didn't want you going super sayain 3 to kill Freiza or Raditz.

Babbling Text: What would normally be a cut scene or a prelude to the fight scene is now just somebody you can't see babbling and conversing with your character or someone else in the background. It's not so much bad, as somewhat annoying.

Confusing upgrade system: It doesn't say the max amount of upgrade you can give a person: The previous game gave people a limit of 20 points to an attribute (health, strenght, speed, etc.) This one is sort of hard to figure.

To conclude, I have to say this game is much better than the first Tenkaichi game, but not as good as the second. I suggest getting the second, but you might as well get the third just to say you have it and for the extra characters.

    The Kamehameha fizzles...2
What did they do to my precious DBZ fighting game series?

Okay, it looks beautiful. I will admit that. I've heard people say "It's so nice looking that it looks like your are controlling the Anime itself". Well, the graphics actually blow the decade old animation out of the water. It would be nice to see the series re-done using this level of animation.

And the positive reviews stop here. I'm an avid fan of the DBZ series. Esepcially so when it comes to the Budakai Tenkaichi series. I own 1, 2 and 3. Burst Limit is to the DBZ fighting series or games as a one legged grey hound is to dog racing.

I am not sure if they dumbed it down for younger kids, if they just wanted to try something new, or just were too worried about the "pretty face" of the game.

The DBZ: BT series is known for being high-speed, fast-paced, all over the screen action. Burst Limit just shoved 6 metric tons of lead down everyones undergaments. I am used to "rushing" and "dragon homing". Now I get Goku floating across the screen at speeds that would have him paced by balloons at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The controls have definitely been dumbed down. It's really just a matter of "wait till my Ulimate Attack powers up....and fire" system. There's crap for variety.

At most, I would reccomend this game as a rental. I'll be selling mine very shortly.

    Not worth full price3
Yes, the game is fun. Yes, it looks very pretty. But unfortunately, the game is way too short, only covering up to the Cell Saga, and then it doesn't even cover all the events taking place up to that. I think only the Saiyan Saga is fully covered, but the rest are not. You don't fight Dodoria or Zarbon, and only two members of the Ginyu appear; only androids #16, 17, and 18 show up; no Cell Jr... I think you get the point. I am fine with actually having less playable characters, but not at the expense of playing through all battles in the series.

As far as gameplay goes, i like the controls. I actually use the analog stick to move the characters. Takes a little getting used to the fact that you can't charge up your Ki, game does it for you. Drama Pieces was a nice little touch, but they should give you the option of turning them off on story mode, cause they don't really add anything spectacular, and many times it throws off your whole momentum when the fight stops to show you a little 5 second scene.

Overall, its worth a rental, not a full price purchase.

a pretty good DBZ game but not the best3
The game could had been a lot better about the only they did real good at was the graphics which are kick a**, but other than that it was ok it would had been better if they made the gameplay like Dragonball z Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
For example the 3D range of movement, which I'm deapointed about not having in it. Also, could have completed each story line instead of leaving beats and pieces out, and added alot more characters.
    The controls were real good.
The achivements are to hard on higher difficulties, but this game could have been alot better.

    A lot fo fun4
If you like the card game you will love this game. It is actually much easier than the card game because it keeps track of all the power levels etc. I got this for my 6 year old son for Christmas. I enjoy playing this with him. You can play in story mode and go on quests with different characters or play in arcade mode. Some of the characters you run up agaiinst are chalenging but not too hard. Very well done.

    Duel Masters is FUN!!!4
This game is real fun.You can play as Rusty,Luc,Rebecca,Flynn, and Trey. Each player has a different element. Rusty has fire. Luc has light. Rebecca has water. Flynn has dark. Trey has nature. This game is easier than Yu-gi-oh. It is hard but not too hard.

    Role playing card game3
Kids love this game. When their copy broke, I had to buy them a new copy as soon as possible. They think this game is great, and the many different kinds of monsters they can find in this game keeps them playing.

    Definitely a must-buy!4
I'm a HUGE Ghostbusters fan. But like any huge fan, I DO believe there's a right AND a wrong way to make a Ghostbusters game. When it was released on the NES, it was an epic failure. I only got into it because at the time I played it, I had no life. On top of the fact that it's an endless chase-and-catch which gets you nowhere, it wasn't much of a "game" either. But I digress, anyways. The PSP game took the things that made the movies great - the visuals, mostly - and incorporated them into the game.

The coolest thing about this game (especially the PSP version) is the fact that you are encouraged to take part in the destruction of property. After all, isn't being a Ghostbuster about blowing stuff up? On top of this, you get SCORED for blowing things up and shooting all kinds of objects. You even get to catch ghosts in a museum, making it easy to hit the 100,000+ mark on destruction of property! Yay!

The even better thing is the ghost-catching system. They improved over previous versions. Unlike the Sega Genesis Ghostbusters in which you shoot them and they die, or the NES version where you have a ridiculously short stream for the gun and the other Ghostbuster gets in the way, this time they made it look and feel like the movies. Except that crossing the streams doesn't kill you, it only knocks you down. The beams are fired at a ghost, and once the specter is weak enough, you slam it around using the directional buttons. Once you give her a good slamming, throw your trap down and guide them into it. It's really fun, and due to the fact that you can optionally play levels over and over, it makes for a very fun time--You can even take cues from the movie, like capturing Slimer and fighting Stay Puft!

This game doesn't follow the first or second movies, but appears to actually be a third movie. The dialogue is nice and all of the four Ghostbusters are present - Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. The audio is a tad low, but the jokes are spread evenly, unlike the movie where a wise remark would usually come from Peter and sometimes Egon. In short, the game is Ghostbusters 3 in every way.

The only complaint I have is that the PSP version was given the "cartoon" graphics, meaning deformed versions of all of the characters. Not to worry, the gameplay is identical and the fact that you see the Proton Pack in such detail throughout the entire game is a blessing. You don't get to drive the Ecto-1, but who cares? The Nintendo DS is overrated anyway. So if you love Ghostbusters, action games or you straight-up just own a PSP and don't even care what Ghostbusters is, buy this game and enjoy. I got mine from the PlayStation Store, and it's worth the $30 I spent for it. I can't put it down!

Solid game with a Ghostbusters feel.4
Ghostbusters is a solid game. I'll start with the gameplay.

Single Player: In general I would say it's about average for this type of game. By average I mean the game play and controls are good, just nothing revolutionary. Sometimes it gets a little repetitive in spots but all in all a worthy effort. Using the proton pack is fun but loses a little bit of the fun as you use it so much sometimes.

Multiplayer: Good fun with your buddies or other online people. There are modes such as: Survive - survive waves of ghosts, Destruction - basically wreak havok and destroy these ghost container thingies, and Ghost Trapping - Basically trap as many ghosts as you can in the time you have. There are the typical "gun power ups" you can earn along with new costumes, etc. There are weapon spawn points which are helpful so you can shoot different types of projectiles at the ghosts. Overall this is a pretty fun multiplayer but again nothing revolutionary.

As for the story, voice acting, cut scenes: The voice acting is super cool. I mean you just can't beat having the REAL voices of the ghostbusters as you play through the game. It really makes you feel like it's the real deal. The story is well written with the dialogue containing the usual witty banter you've come to expect from the Ghostbusters movies. I thought the cut scenes were well done, actually a little better than I expected. The voices, story and overall ambiance of this game really give it that extra polish that other games sometimes lack.

I would say the gameplay is about 3 to 3.5 stars but the great voice acting and story convinced me to rate this as a 4 star game. Considering most games based on movies are not very good this was a pleasant surprise. If you are a big Ghostbusters fan definitely pick this game up as the voice acting and story alone will bring back great memories. If not or you are on the fence you might consider renting this game first to see if you enjoy it enough to drop the cash on it.

Ghostbusters Nostalgia Helping to Gloss Over Problems3
I had been eagerly awaiting this game for over a year, as I believe the original release date was supposed to be last year. I finally got it in the mail and loaded it up to experience a since of nostalgia as the famous Ghostbusters music blared. Your character is a no-name recruit who gets to work aside the original cast, all voiced by the real actors, and the graphics immediately gripped me, along with the nostalgia and I was hooked--but not for long.

The story takes place shortly after "Ghostbusters 2" and has you revisting most of the locations from the first Ghostbuster movie (i.e. the library and the Sedgewick Hotel, etc.). You also battle some familar ghosts (i.e. Slimer, etc.). The plot also involves Gozer and more or less pays homage to the first movie, while kind of ignoring the second one (which is fine by me).

The graphics are spot on with the character models and weapons and vehicles. You will be amazed how detailed everything is, including the locations. The variety of locales is nice, but you often find yourself repeating some venues. The sound and music are all on-spot with Elmer Bernstein's classic score played throughout the action and cutscenes. Some of the sound effects can catch you off-guard and spook you a little which is always a good thing.

All of the original cast do a great job voice acting their original roles; there is a lot of the same comedy and it certainly helped with the original screenwriters.

The gameplay is a mixed bag and really makes this a 3 star game, which isn't bad, but isn't great either. It's not hard to control your character per se, except for maybe the run button being mapped to the circle button for some reason. Controlling your weapons is another story. I think the game company got caught up in adding so many secondary fire modes and additional weapons that they never made any one weapon really that good. You'll spend most of the game with the traditional particle beam weapon as seen in the movie. There are other beam weapons such as the one that shoots out a freezing-like beam; one that shoots out green slime; and one that acts almost like a fast response gun. You will find annoying the short length of time you can use any of them before having to hit the button to "vent" them; this usually happens in the middle of a battle when you don't have the time. The PKG goggles are a bit gimmicky, but do help you locate some ghosts and more specifically add to Tobin's Spirit Guide info you may find interesting and sometimes useful (i.e. weaknesses of the ghosts, etc.)

The teammate AI is perhaps one of the worst I have seen in a game in a long while. Not only are they incapable of holding their own, they rely on you to risk your own death to go "recover" them, which is a quick press of the X button when close to them. Most times this results in you falling down and you hoping there is a Ghostbuster around to return the favor--most times there is not or you can hear them coming and they get knocked down and it's "Game Over." Often, you and only one other Ghostbuster will be in a certain area. The ghosts will gang up (wait till you get to the graveyard battle--you'll know it) and throw a lot at you and if you aren't saving your fellow Ghostbuster constantly, you will most certainly die. Dying wouldn't be as bad if it didn't have a ridiculously long load time. (Mind you, the game does an install on the PS3's HDD, so why such a long load time every time you die?)

Among the issues above that seriously take their toll on your enjoyment as the game progresses, there are some inexplicable glitches (one in the library) where your character will just freeze for no reason (and it's not part of the game). Not often and definitely not something that bothered me too much, but it shows a lack of polish.

I've read a lot of high score reviews and can't help think they are based on the feeling of nostalgia. This is the BEST Ghostbusters video game ever released. I can't deny that. Was it fun? Yes, though it was short (about 7-8hrs). I recommend as a rental or as a purchase when the price comes down some. It is a good example of how movies and games can become seamless these days. With more polish, better AI, and a reduction in load times, it would easily be a 4+ star game. Hopefully any sequel will take these flaws into account.

    3/5 stars

    Pros:
    *Superb graphics and sound.
*Great voice acting and nice plot that ties in with the first Ghostbuster movie.
    *Nice selection of weapons.
*AI for the enemies is pretty good.
    *Nice variety of locations.

    Cons:
*Load times. (Inexcusable for a game that has a HDD install.)
*The worst AI in regards to your teammates.
*Running is mapped to an inconvenient button.
*The targeting is not always great.
    *It is short at 7-8hrs.
    *Minor glitches.

    Definitely Great!!5
I am one of the people that grew up watching the two Ghostbuster movies and every incarnation TV series. If you are a fan of the movies, you will love the game. The story is full jokes and is just as funny as the two movies. There were many times that made me laugh out loud. While playing, it felt as if I was actually in the movie because the game has such great game/gamer interaction.

I have to admit that there are a couple of flaws with the game, mainly the running, which isn't the greatest. Besides that, there is really nothing that I didn't like. I had forgotten how much I loved the two movies and this really brought back the nostalgia, and I actually had tears in my eyes at times. The series just holds a lot of great memories for old-time fans such as myself. If you are a fan, you will want this game. It's great!

    Some Qestions will be answered5
Terminator 3 :Rise of the Machines the movie has already extended the borders of the trilogy's universe more than we have known before ,it took the story in a completely new paths ,but in doing so the movie left some unanswered questions ,the fans of the series were racing to put theories to fill the gaps ,now the Terminator 3 The game has finally come to answer some of your questions .

First of all this game as we all know isn't the first game based on the legendary series ,many games appeared on older consoles and it's not even the first PS2 game features the mighty terminator ,the first game(Dawn Of Fate) was absolutely mediocre experience ,and beside that none of the previous games have featured the character of Arnold Schwarzenegger completed with face's features and voice ,now all of that is included in this new game ,promising to give a thrilling experience for both the series' fans and the gamers ,also the game features all the characters from the movie with their voice and features ,And the motion capturing technology provided here gives a feel of amazing realism ,The game also features an extensive cut scenes and there are some cinematic scenes filmed especially for the game .

The game itself is actually two games bundled in one ,The story follows the events of the movie very closely ,And a great feature here that the events is played according to the Terminator's (Arnie) point of view ,With the lovely red screen which scans the targets and collect primal and advanced information about them ,The game launches in a first person mode ,So you are guaranteed to blow up all the obstacles in front of you ,Ins some movie's scenes like the Cemetery Scene which is implemented in the game you will feel the thrill in destroying the police's vehicles but there are a very big different here ,Where in the movie we see Arnie insures that there are no human causalities in the battle ,In the game you will be given the option to make causalities or not ,depends on your respect for the human lives!

Other sections of the game will turn into third person view ,That's in the section where you meet some enemies like the Female Terminator X ,In this you will have the ability for hand fighting ,This will be repeated in various parts of the game ,Every one of them with different purpose ,Also there will be different weapons to accompany you during the journey ,Ranging from the ordinary guns to more advanced futuristic weapons ,All at your service!

As noted in this review's title there will be some questions which weren't answered in the movie and will be answered in the game ,Sort of interaction like the MATRIX game ,But here it's different because the game and the movie are not parallel ,They have the same story line but the game sheds the light on some dark spots in the series' world ,Including some questions about time travel which is a very vital element in the game because we see the terminator moves back and forth in the time's tunnels ,And that helps you to uncover the mysteries ,One final thing to note that the staff of the movie have been involved in some way or another with the game developer's to insure that the game is essential thing for the movie ,So it's guaranteed to give you the same look and feel of the movie and the series itself ,All of that promises a very huge adventure and enjoyable experience .

    Oh Yeah!4
Finally a chance to be the Terminator! This is cool! I paid full price for this game, and I still think it was worth it - even though I see amazon.com is already giving $20 off now. I played from Friday night to Sunday night and beat the game on the Easy level. I enjoyed the destruction and the actual actors from the third movie doing the voices.

I don't see why gamespot's reviewers gave it such a low rating. I also can't figure out why some of the reviewers here say you can play as a human? Would someone please tell me how?

If you enjoyed the Terminator series and/or enjoy first person shooter games, you should give this one a try. Nice weapon selection - I finally got a chance to use a Phase Plasma Rifle (I assume it was a 40-watt range model).

    Extrene Fun!5
This movie based game has it all. It has awsome graphics and gameplay, plus there are movie scenes. You get to play as Arnold Schwarzenegger in T3's plot plus an extended storyline. Fans of the movie or action lovers should definitaly buy this game.It is one action title you can't miss.

    this games awsome5
if you like terminator 3, then you will like this one at least 3 times better then the 3rd one. i tried this game out at circiuit city and the graphics to the game were really good. the sound is also really good also. it is my favorite action game that i have played so far. it is not a very hard game. if you would like some cheat here are some:

1)at the main menu, select the "credits" options then press circle,R2,triangle while watching it.(level select)

2)at the main menu, select the "credits" options then press circle,R2,R1 while watching it. (invincibility)

3)at the main menu, select the "credits" options then press circle,triangle,L1 while watching it. (all upgrades)

    GREAT GAME!5
Terminator 3 redemption is the best terminator game out of the three! In this one you can actually see yourself, unlike terminator 3 rise of the machines. You can also pick up signs and stab robots with them! Terminator 3 redemption is based on the third movie. Atari already made one based on the movie but this is just a much better version. In this game you can drive cars, which isnt in any of the other terminator games.

    A Good Game...But Not Good Enough3
The first thing you're thinking is that: Hey, isn't the name of that movie Rise Of The Machines. True, true, true. The Redemption is more of an expanded version of the film, with a few events happening in the begenning and the end to add the the original film plot. The game allows you to play as Arnold Schwarzzenger as you battle through tons of neat and fun levels. The problem in the game is that most of the time you don't get to experience running around through missions with the Terminator which Terminator fans probably will be begging to do in this third-person mode. But most of the time, the T850 is taking vehicles for test-drives while chasing flying machines or the TX. You have to constantly use vehicles to get through missions, such as using a pick-up truck in a high-speed race to save John Connor and Katherine Brewster. The things added to vehicular gameplay that makes it more interesting is the ability to leap from vehicle to vehicle and take control of it when you're close enough. For example, if you're driving a vehicle on the verge of exploding and see another one nearby, you will be prompted to press a button. When you do, the Terminator will leap out of the vehicle he is driving and take control of the one you were planning on taking. The Terminator also does certain things for certain vehicles. For example, when leaping to the mechanical miniature tanks in the levels that take place during the War Of The Machines, the Terminator will shove his hand into part of the vehicle and yank out a few wires to get rid of its autopilot. And when leaping to normal cars in 2003 such as police and civillian's cars, the Terminator will jump on top of it and collapse part of the roof and with half of his body sticking out of the broken car, he aims with his shotgun. The AI in the game isn't what you would call advanced or intelligent. Though enemy Terminators sometimes rip signs out of the ground to whack you with or after you cripple them, they crawl towards you eerily or climb up your vehicle when you run over them, they aren't really intelligent. I strongly suggest just renting the game if you're a Terminator fan. If you like to drive vehicles, rent it, otherwise I reccomend saving some money and ignoring it completely [Including not renting it].

Riddick Is Great, Except For One Major Design Flaw3
"The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena" was such an enjoyable game for me that it killed me that one significant flaw kept the game's fun level down. (I'll go into that below.) Aside from that, you get two games on one blu-ray disc. In fact, one of the opening screens upon booting up offers you a choice to play "Escape From Butcher Bay" or "Assault on Dark Athena", much like a movie DVD/Blu-ray menu, so the games are separate and are on the same disc. So you really get your money's worth, IF you haven't played "Escape From Butcher Bay" before, which I hadn't.

"Escape From Butcher Bay" is an engrossing game that really (even being 5 years old) takes first person shooters into a different direction. You are able to interact with a whole cast of believable characters, many of which are better scripted and animated than ANY of the non-playable characters in "Fallout 3." The next-gen gloss really makes everything shine--no pun intended. The character models are very detailed and the backgrounds and levels are very sharp. Another reviewer complained about the graphics and I have to say I am shocked by that. There are very few times the graphics are anything less that next-gen. "Assault On Dark Athena" is built on the same engine and has equally sharp graphics and an interesting cast of highly detailed characters.

The stories for both are very much part of the Riddick universe and canon, with "Escape From Butcher Bay" being the one mentioned in the actual movies. I would say the story for "Escape From Butcher Bay" is superior to "Assault on Dark Athena", but not by much. Both are very detailed and your main quests (and side quests) add a lot of depth and time to the playing experience.

I thought the controls were very good and the selection of weapons was particularly generous--though I preferred the Ulaks, as they were quite lethal for silent kills or melee combat. The other weapons were nicely detailed and animated and it was always cool to walk into a room, shoot out the lights, and turn the Riddick eyeshine on so I could see in the dark.

The sound is great and many have mention the top notch voice acting. I have to agree, the voice acting was superb and it even has some musical cues from the movies.

The enemy AI is rather good and relentless. It really forces you to use Riddick's stealth abilities (which include the awesome eyeshine, where he can see in the dark) to perform quick kills.

Riddick, at times (in both games) can step into robot-like suits and then use them against the enemy. This is fun and adds variety. In "Dark Athena" he can even take over and control the zombie like soldiers, in certain areas.

Now to the issues that keep this from being a solid 4-5 star game. Well, the checkpoint save system is the worst I have seen in a long time. Many times you will be down to one health block and you move ahead and it automatically saves you progress there. You die and you start back there with one health block. If you die enough, the game generously gives you another one and I have heard if you die enough, then another one. But this save system saps the fun out of the game by constant loading screens and then you finding out you have a large amount of enemies or big enemies to fight, BUT you only have one to two health blocks. It is very tiresome and adds a lot of deaths and restarts. Also, the map system in "Escape" (which is actually non-existent in "Dark Athena") doesn't help at all as it doesn't show your location or direction on the map! These two flaws seriously affect an otherwise awesome gaming experience and that is sad.

There's some minor glitches I noticed like one of the cut scenes had dialogue spoken, but there was a serious delay to the characters lip-synching. Also, there was some slowdown and choppiness.

Overall, it is a fun game despite the flaws and glitches. I had a great time, though cursing at the screen from time to time, and I think most will enjoy the game if they can overlook these problems.

    3/5 stars

    Pros:
    *15+ hrs. of gameplay.
*Great graphics for the character models and levels.
    *2 games for one price.
*Well constructed levels, with multiple non-linear routes.
    *Controls are pretty solid.
    *Enemy AI is good.
    *Sound is good.
*You get to play as Riddick with Vin Diesel voicing the character.

    Cons:
*The worst checkpoint save system that results in many loading screens and many deaths due to reloading with few health blocks. (Should have had a nice hard drive install to speed up loading times or do away with them.)
*Enemy AI can get too good in some areas and also, while the game developers want you to be sneaking around, many enemies carry flashlights on their guns which makes sneaking almost a gimmick.
*Map in "Butcher Bay" is terrible and no map in "Dark Athena."
    *A few glitches and slowdown.

    Worth a second play5
I have the PC port of Escape from Butcher's Bay from 2004 and loved the game. I don't play too many games on my PC anymore and was debating whether or not to spend the money on this game. I'm definitely glad I did. There are two episodes to this game. The first is a remake of the 2004 release "Escape from Butcher's Bay" and the second is an all new campaign "Assault on Dark Athena."

Butcher's Bay is as good, if not better than I remember from 2004. There's plenty of ways to play the game and there's more than one path to get to some places. All of the FPS, stealth an melee elements work really well together and the game does a very good job of making you feel like Riddick.

What worried me is that the reviews I read indicated that if you've already played through Butcher's Bay, then Dark Athena might not be worth a rebuy on it's own. It doesn't matter. It's been 5 years since I played Butcher's Bay and it still holds up so well that it's definitely worth it on it's own. Dark Athena is a good addition and makes the package worthy of full game price. The environments are varied and interesting, but the story is lacking polish and continuity. Loose ends are left hanging, like SPOILER "what ever happened to Johns? Isn't he supposed to leave with Riddick at this point?" END SPOILER The game shifts gears into shooter territory for a little while with some neat foes, but brings back the stealth elements before the game is done.

For those wanting a game with a decent story to follow, gameplay variety and a good cast of characters, this package of Butcher's Bay + Dark Athena is a very good choice.

    Riddick5
I just picked up The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and I have got to say Its a great Game! I really like how they put the Butcher Bay story in the game as well. I liked how it showed some of Riddick's past on how he got his Eyeshine even though we all know it was from Surgery. The butcher bay graphics are decent not bad but sometimes a little blurry. What I really like about this game is the difficulty of it I am on Normal and it seems like a hard mode which is a blast.

One you get the hang of Butcher bay the weapons and combat is a little hard at first but once you get used to it, its flawless and the killing and neck snapping action. The blood and the terror of the tortured people in the cells or that are trying to run free is just a great version of a prison also the pit brings the reality of the game out.

On to the Dark Athena part of the game. The graphics are crystal Clear, and amazing. The sound is where it should be and Riddick's Eyeshine is really neat in the darkness. I really like the way this story worked out with the weapons and the characters. I especially like how Riddick and the Capt have a history together and they are going to fight it out hopefully. I will just say Riddick is right "the dead should stay dead" and that's where you come in. I also like how you can sneak up people and since your used to the fighting from Butcher Bay you should be good to go with fighting and sneaking around.

Overall this was a great purchase I enjoy these games a lot and I look forward to beating Dark Athena soon. I will be looking forward to possibly a multilayer or something along those lines. I recommend purchasing this game 2 great games in 1.
