A rare find at a great price
This is the best piece of lighting equipment I have purchased in a long time. As an aspiring House/Electro/Trance DJ, it's imperative that my music sync to lights, and this product does it in a cool way at an affordable price.
I spin a lot of electronic dance music (EDM) and what I like about Hexolight is that it responds to bass as well as higher frequency sounds. As many EDM fans know, bass and other low frequency sounds such as kick drums aren't always present during the intro or during a build up. Hexolight is able to respond even in these situations, which makes them far better in my opinion that other more expensive lights on the market.
What I also like about this system is that you can take the light pods apart and customize their setup. I use them to create transformational light sculptures to fit the space that I'm spinning in. These lights are such a hit, I have people asking me all the time where I purchased them from.
In short, this system is for anyone who is looking for a versatile piece of DJ lighting equipment. The price is great and the ambiance it creates is perfect.

The 13k is great!! It arrived in perfect shape, was easy to set up, is cool to the touch, and works with any kind of music. Highly recommended!!!
Hexolight 13000 = low quality + flimsy plastic + poor effects
3 controller units (6-port, 4-port, 3-port)
13 light pods (4-blue, 4-red, 3-yellow, 2-green)
3 power adapters
This product is made of cheap flimsy plastic and poor quality. Because of this, the tongue and groove system fails miserably. The pods are either super tight fit or very loose when linked together. Assembling/rearranging the pieces requires a lot of time and patience. You have to really force some pieces to link together, but too much force and the pods will break (flimsy plastic).
The power adapters are also of low quality and inconsistent. All three adapter plugs (goes into the controller) are of different lengths and they don't plug into the controller completely.
Each of the light pods have different wire lengths (to connect to the controller). A few of them are very short and reconfiguring the light pods are very difficult and a real pain, literally (the plastic edges are sharp).
The controllers responds to loud thumping music/vibrations (at maximum sensitivity) by flashing the light pods. Forget low sensitivity as the controller will not pickup anything and the pods will just blink in sequence. The flashing light effects are also very disappointing.
I'm also very disappointed with the 2 controllers that doesn't come with extra ports for expandability. Where are my incentives to buy more light pods?
Hexolight has a lot of potential, but unfortunately the poor execution, cheap materials and low quality makes this product a piece of garbage.
