Charger does no harm
Just orderd this item (energizer power & play for Ps3) and it works great charges quickly looks sleek and very sharp,but it is a lil light weight but it serves its purpose and is fairly sturdy. The one issue that i had was after you connected controller light is red during the charge stage, when charge is complete it than turns green- i could find no info about whether or not i could leave controllers on charging unit-would it continue to charge and burn the controller down over time(afer doing my due dillegence and thorough research) the answer is no--once controller is fully charged the light will turn green at that point there is no need to disconect power because that channel stop producing charge- one would think otherwise seeing the green light but this unit in fact stops the process doing no harm to controller so leave it on all day it wont ruin controller--figured this might help--

One of the better PS3 controller chargers
I read some mixed reviews about the Pelican version of this exact same product and did not want to buy one of their units. I then saw that Energizer has the EXACT SAME product but with their name and warranty attached to it. That made me feel perfectly comfortable and I ended up buying one. It's been really good so far. I am able to plug the controllers in easy with one hand now so it's not as bad as I thought it would be. The lights are not as bright as other units but are still a tad too bright for my home theater room. I have to put this out of site so the lights don't distract me during movies.

No problems so far and a very nice design makes this a 5 star product for me.

Excellent Charging Solution
This is an incredible product. Looks very slick, really matches the black-and-silver of the PS3. The clear controller charge indicators are also very nice-looking. You can charge 2 controllers in the slots, and there are also 2 powered USB slots for the charging cables. You can use these to charge the PS3 official headset (or any other USB devices). The controller ports are standard Mini-USB connections. They have a clear bit of plastic on top that holds the controller. It lights up dimly red when charging and green when finished -- this looks really cool.

Overall, this is an extremely good-looking, stylish, and useful accessory for charging your PS3 peripherals. Really fits the style and look of the PS3, and also has convenient USB slots and charging-indicator lights. Highly recommended.

Excellent, but here's a trick
At first I got the drum pad silencers and held them up to the rock band drum pads and thought "this isn't going to work." Check out your RB drums. You'll notice a thin plastic rim around each drum. Well I expected these drum pads to fit inside that ring. Nope, if you stuck them on, they would go over the ring and then sort of float on top of the actual drum pad and MAYBE make contact in the center, where the pressure transducer is that picks up your drum strikes.

So, to install these drum pads, you must TAKE OFF THE PLASTIC RIM around the drums. It takes a few minutes, but isn't hard. You have to pull the striking part of each drum off individually. It takes a lot of force, but be careful not to yank out the wire underneath. If you look at your RB drums from below, you'll notice 3 or 4 small rubber wedges sticking through the plastic base. These are what hold the drums into the frame. Once you've pulled off a drum pad, unscrew the plastic rim, take it off, and reassemble the drum (make sure all the rubber pieces are back in place, sometimes they stay attached to the drum surface half and need to be taken off and screwed back into the base. Push the drum pad back onto the base and make sure all 4 rubber feet click into place. THEN stick the drum silencer onto the drum pad.

After performing the installation as I mentioned above, these pads make the RB drums much much much quieter and WAY more pleasant to play, especially in groups or at night. There are no installation instructions included with this kit, but there should be.

Another option is to trim the pads so they fit inside the plastic rim. I thought it would be easier and cleaner looking to remove the plastic rim instead.

Very affordable solution
Considering how much bad press the Rock Band peripherals have received since the game's launch last November, it's not surprising that something like this would be looked upon as a gimmicky, band-aid solution to a less-than-perfect drum set.

Sure, there are better kits being developed by Harmonix and Red Octane for their respective upcoming sequels, but if you own a Rock Band drum kit now, then these silencers are actually pretty good for the price. First of all, they're a bit more stylish than the gray plastic pads that you'd normally drum on. Second, they reduce the drum noise considerably, even during more demanding songs. Third, the material reverberates much, much better, allowing for better runs and rolls, and you get far fewer missed and/or duplicate notes in the process. Finally, these things are easy to apply, sticking right over the pads themselves. At first, it seems like a cheap way to attach them, but the adhesive holds up--just make sure you center them properly.

This is definitely a product for people who are tired of the dull plastic noise during game sessions, and if you have friends over who tend to overhit or flat-out miss the pads entirely, the pad silences those errors as well. Other than a reinforced pedal, this is the best add-on I've seen for any rock band peripheral.

Great Silencers, But Watch Your Accuracy Drop
I picked these up liking the idea that they'd make the drums a bit quieter and add to the bounce on the drum head. They do make it look a little nicer, they do make it quieter, and they do add a little bounce...

...but they also kill your accuracy. I put these on and started playing and immediately started wondering if maybe the calibration on the system had somehow gotten off. What I ended up doing was going to practice mode and doing a roll on each pad at the beginning, just before the song started. I could watch the pad missing hits. Take the pad off, everything gets caught correctly again.

I tried hitting the pads in different places, with different amounts of force, but it pretty universally took down about 10% of the hits, regardless of force or location.

I'm taking these back today. It's unfortunate because they do look good and they totally do a good job at noise reduction.

Double Bass action
Since this is the official replacement Rock Band 2 bass pedal, you would expect it to perform identical to the orignal that came with the Rock Band 2 drum set, and it does.

The pedal can be used as a replacement pedal or as a second pedal with the included double bass adapter. (needs 2AAA batteries, not included) When using the adapter, you plug both bass pedals into the adapter and then plug the adapter into the drum set. There is a selector switch on the adapter that lets you change the compatibility mode (360/PS3/Rock Band/Guitar Hero/etc).

Now, there's a catch to using the adapter, which makes the adapter work much better when drumming but you'll lose a tiny bit of functionality when navigating the song lists. The catch is that the adapter sends a short "on" signal to the drum set telling it that you pressed the pedal down and then turns the signal back to "off". This is great when using two pedals at the same time because it keeps them from interfering with each other when going for those lightning fast bass hits. In essence, you can press one pedal down and keep it down and then press the second bass pedal at the same time and it will still register a bass hit. This is a much better solution that simply using a splitter because when using a splitter, if you hold one pedal down you will get no response from the second bass pedal until you release the first pedal. It's easy to miss notes when using a splitter, but you won't have that problem with this adapter. Without trying to sound cliche, it rocks!

Here's the downside to that catch I was talking about; since it only sends a short "on" signal before turning the pedal back to "off", you can't use the pedal to navigate your song selections table of contents because that requires you to hold the pedal down. (there's a note in the instructions that tell you this also) The only thing the pedal will do when using the adapter is to "page down", which is what it always does when you press it once, with or without the adapter.

To me, it's not a big deal considering I gained a vast improvement in my double bass note hits and completely removed the leg fatigue I'd get when trying to play really fast songs on hard and expert. It does take a little practice to get used to it if you're not used to using both feet, but keep at it and you'll wonder how you managed with only one foot for so long.

I think the adapter alone makes this replacement pedal worth the cost. If you're only playing drums on easy or medium then it may not be worth as much to you because you don't really have any need for fast bass hits. But if you're like me and want to use the regular Rock Band 2 drums with the standard pedal you already have and just add a second pedal to it, this is the cheapest way to go.

So obviously there's other pedal choices out there and the other option you have is to just buy a better replacement after-market pedal. If you broke your first pedal from being too rough on it, you might want to consider this route instead. The quality of some of them is vastly superior to the stock pedal, but remember you're still using one foot in that situation, it's more expensive, and you don't get an adapter. To me, it's just easier to use both feet to get those really fast bass hits. And honestly, since we're just smacking around fake drums anyway, I'll use the method that gets me the best scores, which is two seperate bass pedals. Plus I figured if I buy an expensive pedal I'd still have to use a generic Y-cable splitter if I wanted to use 2 high-end pedals at the same time, which means you still have the limitations I described above.

Sorry for the long winded review, but if you're bothering to read all this in the first place, you're probably seriously considering all your options to improve your game. I think this is a really good option for the money, especially if you already have a working pedal and want to try out double bass pedals. (The splitter sealed the deal for me. It was worth the cost alone.)

The only double kick pedal that works!
So if you're here it means you're looking for one of two things:

1) A replacement pedal for Rock band. In which case, this is an identical product to what comes standard with Rock Band. So rest easy in your purchase.

2) A second kick pedal so you can have a double bass. In which case, look no further. This is the only product available on the market that actually works as a double bass pedal.

Don't be thrown off by the reviews you'll read from people trying to play songs and expert and blaming this product for their score dropping from 3 billion to 1 billion. There is a learning curve for using a double bass, but this product works perfectly. It is also a ton of fun once you learn to use it!

Also, don't be thrown off by any third party products. I tried two different third party pedals from Best Buy, both claiming to work for double bass. I only ended up returning them. This is the only product out there that will actually work. So don't think twice, it's high quality and well worth the money.

Buyer Beware
I bought this pedal and splitter with the intention of using it with my Ion Drum Rocker (1/8 inch to 1/4 inch adapter required) to play Expert+ in various Guitar Hero games. The bottom line? The splitter seems to be junk. The pedal appears to be as advertised, so if all you need is a replacement pedal, I see no reason not to purchase this item. However, if you (like me) are excited about the idea of playing double kick parts on difficult Expert+ tracks...don't bother.

I tested the splitter on a wireless RB2 kit and it works so-so. The pedals do work independently and "slower" double kick parts are picked up fine. When the action gets fast, though, the splitter just can't handle the volume of hits and all that registers in game are occasional beats, maybe 1/6 or so notes during a fast double bass section. This of course means you will fail the song rapidly. That is on a normal RB2 wireless kit, which this product claims to support.

On my Drum Rocker it works even less well. The splitter simply doesn't work for anything beyond a very slow alternating beat--at a rate you could play with one pedal just fine, thus rendering this set up useless.

Note: My brother also purchased one of these recently and has experienced the same results so the problem is unlikely to be a defective splitter--The product just seems to be junk.

Add that extra touch that makes the controller great
I have owned PS3 Trigger addons for 4 months and enjoy them a lot. They keep your fingers secure on the R2 and L2 buttons when in an intense gaming moment. The are great for games that use shooting or racing. They add precision to the buttons so you can push them in as light or hard as you want since the extra layer of plastic gives you more control. When you don't have these on it can be hard to get that precision. These things aren't flawless though, they sometimes pop off after a little frustration with the controller like after an unexpected death which send the pieces flying in the room which can make you even more mad since they are hard to find. However, they usually stay on unless you use a lot of force. I think they are worth the money since you become use to them after using them for a while and want them on your controller all the time.

The PS3 controller should have been made this way in the 1st place!
Best 5 dollars you will spend on your PS3. While looking for a modded 360 /PS3 controller for a little while due to the fact that I could not stand the triggers on the PS3 controllers the way they came from the factory. I found these on line and thought I would give them a try. Needless to say they work great! Very easy to install. And they stay in place. I would highly recommend these.
