Annoyingly hard
I haven't had to "read" story dialog since the early days of the Zork I,II, III games. On the PS2 system this is absurd. There should be voice samples or some animation for the cutscences, no matter how horribly they manage to accomplish it. The first level was annoying and I'm on the second and I'm so frustrated I don't want to bother with the game anymore. Any game has some merit, and this one CAN be fun. There is not much aiming involved, you can do head shots if you are lucky. Ammo is pretty hard to come by. Game play is suprisingly ok. Some games like syphon filter(ps2 version) have horrible left analog stick aiming control, but this one performs well enough. Overall, besides frustrating, this game is alright it you get it very cheap, I'm talking under $5 with shipping.
More fun than getting your arm broken...almost
This poor piece of trash was in the bargain bin where it should have stayed. The graphics are bad, the gameplay is bad, and I am bad for buying it. The only good part about this game is probably the cover art. Don't buy it at even less than 10 bucks because you'll be really sorry you did.
Wretched.
I too fell victim to this game in the cutout bin for $1.99. I would gladly pay $1.99 to have the time back that it stole.
Where to start? It's a great premise, I thought! Like a mafia version of Hitman: Silent Assassin! Nope. The music is horrific and repetitive. Close range headshots don't always kill people. If they're NOT dead, get ready because they will bring so many more impossible-to-kill bots down on you, you have no chance. Seriously, you can shoot people 4-5 times at close range and they don't die.
I played through the first level most of the way out of stubbornness. It takes place in a casino. This is one of those games where you have to memorize the movements of everyone by dying 15 times, like a very uninspired version of Metal Gear. After the 20th-30th repeat of trying to figure out all the movements of a group of police searching the casino so I could sneak past them, I took this POS to Gamestop and traded it in for Spy Hunter, which is a good game.
Do not, for the love of all that is good, buy this game.
