great music and graphics; more fun with friends, but single-player challenges are a blast
Most people who give this game a low rating haven't played it with 3 or 4 local players. In this scenario, it's a complete blast for hours. The motion controls are well-balanced and quite successfully add to the fun as 4 people frantically move to win. Graphically, the game looks amazing with textures that hold up very well to the camera zooming, and the plastic characters also looking great. The music is really great, to the point where I wish I could buy the soundtrack; the character's sound effects are absolutely hilarious.
There are single-player challenges, and this is where several of the trophies can be gotten. One complaint I have is that getting the Gold trophy in some of the challenges is a little too hard for me.
Extremely fun, great looking/sounding, and a good value for the money. I look forward to DLC that adds more locations, music, and character voices!
Highly recommended.
Crappy game, horrible controls but not bad for 3+ players.
I got this game for free when it was initially released on PSN. Which was great. I thought it was still free but I guess people are actually paying for it now after seeing some reviewers noting that they paid for it.
The game is pretty much similar in set up and fighting style as Super Smash Bros. Actually IMO, it's pretty much ripping it off real bad except with rag doll puppets.
The controls are crap. One of the moves in particular(I forget which one) is difficult for me to do. I keep reading the instructions on how to do it yet it still doesn't come out no matter how much I shake the controller. By the way, this is a mostly 6axis use game in which you utilize the PS3 controller's 6 axis to execute some moves.
I agree with another reviewer that achieving gold is difficult to do. I only got I think 32% of the trophies before giving up and losing the motivation to really work at it to get them all.
I've never played the game with anyone. So I have yet to experience fights up to 4 players but I can tell it would be fun as stated by another reviewer.
All in all I can't complain much since the game was free for me. But I'm still giving it 3 stars just because the controls and crappy single play.
Great game, lots of comical fun - 5 stars
This is a fun game if you have someone to play against. You are these crazy, extremely flexible Kung Fu characters and you can battle against east other. You can use all different types of weapons. You can play against your friends offline up to 4 people. Some of the characters actions are hilarious for example you can pick up your opponent and drag their face across the floor or slam them face first into the ground. The price is well worth it.
