Veteran PC and Mac gamers know that it's an absolute necessity to have a good mouse when playing first-person shooters. Games like Unreal Tournament 3 and Call of Duty 4 rely on twitch reflexes and accuracy, and your kill/death ratio will drop if your hardware can't keep up with you.
Luckily, the DeathAdder has been specifically designed for maximum responsiveness and speed. It boasts a 1,800 dpi 3G infrared sensor, which enables pinpoint accuracy and tracking speeds 2.25 times faster than the standard 800dpi optical sensor. You'll frag your enemies before they even see you.
The DeathAdder also features 1000Hz Ultrapolling technology, which allows your mouse to keep up with your adrenaline. The mouse has a response time of 1ms, eight times faster than the 8ms response time found in conventional gaming mice. The ultra-wide 16-bit data channel also increases responsiveness, and guarantees latency-free gaming on all battlegrounds. If you're sniping an opponent from the other side of the map, you'll be sure to hit your mark.
That's not all -- with Razer's acclaimed On-the-Fly Sensitivity Drivers, you'll be able to switch dpi settings instantly, even in the midst of fierce combat. At the touch of a button, you can optimize your settings depending on your situation: increase your sensitivity for frantic close-quarters combat, or tone it down for deadly, methodical sniping.
Designed for Smooth, Comfortable Gaming
The Razer DeathAdder is designed to keep you at your sharpest, even after long periods of intense gaming. It features an ergonomic design that fits comfortably in your hand, ensuring that you won't cramp up. The rubber coated buttons are slip-resistant so your gaming won't be ruined by sweaty fingertips. And thanks to its ultra-slick Teflon feet, the DeathAdder glides more smoothly across surfaces than other mice, keeping you on target long after your opponents have lost their edge.
The Razer DeathAdder requires an Internet connection for driver support, 35 MB of hard drive space, and a USB port. It is compatible with Mac OS X (v. 10.4 and above) or Windows 7/Vista/Vista64/XP.

Best mouse for Mac
The choices for mice for Mac are sparse. After trashing two Logitech mice in one year, I went with this gaming mouse and I have not been disappointed. Upon plugging it in, the scroll wheel glows. Upon booting, the logo fades on and off. Fortunately, upon installing the software I was able to disable or enable one or both of these features. The resolution, sensitivity, as well as mouse polling rate are all adjustable. It is also possible to tweak the x and y sensitivity individually. Aside from left, right, and wheel button there are two additional buttons on the left. All of these are programmable to issue keystrokes, functions, macros, or Mac-only functions such as "Dashboard." The movement and feel are far more consistent than other mice I've tried.
One of the nicest features is the on-the-fly sensitivity adjustment. Press down on the scroll wheel then scroll up and down. An optional heads-up display appears on the screen to make quick adjustments for game play or photo editing without the need to load back up the configuration tools. A quick reset button is conveniently located on the bottom to restore the mouse to factory defaults in the event of a melt-down.
This is very well constructed and the software is well polished. I'm using this on OS-X 10.4.11
Best mac mouse available
I'm a frequent World of Warcraft player and was looking for a better mouse for my gaming. Since mac went Intel all mice, regardless of amount of buttons, are compatible. I went out and got the MS sidewinder for almost $90 thinking it would work. Once I hooked it up I realized that although the buttons worked fine, the actual features that make it great were all software and MS never made the drivers for mac. I've always admired the Razer mice when I saw them in the store, and the specs are great but it wasn't until I saw there was a mac specific version did I get one. Now don't be confused, this is the same deathAdder mouse for the PC, only difference is the back light glows white instead of the blue or red as PC offering and I'm pretty sure you can get the PC counterpart and just download the mac drivers. The important part here is the software. Its written for mac, sits in your applications folder and does a great job at fine tuning the mouse for your needs. Other then that the mouse is comfortable, very fast (when you want it to be) and aesthetically looks great. If you play one of the few games for mac you need to get this mouse. Amazons price is about $20 cheaper then via the Apple store or similar places.
Best Mouse I've Ever Owned
I've owned a couple mice over my life, including the Logitech MX 518, the Razer Copperhead, but this is the best. It's beautiful, functional, and deadly accurate. Really helped me in quake and unreal tournament. If you get it for mac, I recommend buying an app called steermouse to manage it, because if you are on a laptop the razer firmware shuts off the trackpad even when it's not plugged in.
