Excellent stick but online prices are ridiculous!
Don't be ripped off!
Online scalpers are counting on people's gullibility in believing this Marvel Vs Capcom stick is worth over $200.
It's a GameStop exclusive but GameStop still has plenty of stock of it left -- IF you just look!
They have marked down the stick $20 from MSRP $159.99 because they didn't get rid of them during Christmas sales.
Frankly, the only reason this stick is more expensive than the Mad Catz TE Round 1 or Round 2 TE sticks is because of the licensed Marvel character art!
It's a great stick but no different than the previous mass market versions hardware-wise.
Mad Catz will probably keep rolling out limited edition runs of the TE stick until they redesign the base or it stops selling. Again, the major differences amongst the sticks is the artwork design on each! Expect a Super Street Fighter IV stick later in the year and possibly another San Diego Comic Con Limited Edition run. See how this works, folks?
Most hardcore gamers customize their sticks with alternate colored buttons (a lot of us HATE the monotony of the colors Mad Catz chooses), rip off and change the faceplate art, or replace the buttons and sticks with alternative Seimitsu brands parts which the stick casing was designed to accept if people prefer that to the Sanwa brand parts the stick base comes with.
Great stick - horrible price on Amazon
I can't knock these sellers from charging over $200 for these fightsticks - capitalism, right? If the box isn't opened you can still call it 'new' I suppose. But you should know that these sticks are GameStop-exclusive items that retail for $139.99. They were $159.99 before Christmas, and they were reduced afterwards. I read the previous review and decided to check the GameStops in town, and every store in town had one. Most of them had a PS3 and a 360 version as well.
I can't say if this stick resembles the Street Fighter IV version 1 or version 2 in terms of workmanship, but it does look more 'professional' than the SFIV version 1 #the one with the white edges#. It does have the Sanwa buttons and joystick, and the unit is very heavy and feels very sturdy in your lap #about the same as the Xbox Racing wheel#. It is corded, but the cord is 13 Feet. It is a few feet longer than the SFIV FightPad.
The cable fits inside the casing so it doesn't add clutter to your media room when not being used. The artwork on the top is very detailed and has a metallic sheen to it. Very sharp. I bought this stick primarily to play SF IV, but I preferred the artwork on this stick to either one of the SF ones.
As noted in other reviews, this stick does work with other fighting games like SF II HD Remix, BlazBlue, etc. I also tried it with Pacman Championship Edition... it does work, but this is a circular-motion stick and doesn't just have a North-South and East-West axis to it. So in Pac-man it didn't work as well as I had hoped. In the fighting games, you can't do better.
$350 MSRP??
Take my advice, GameStops are selling this tournament stick for $140 brand new. This listing is stating that MSRP is $350, when it really was $160. Don't be fooled into paying more than that for this.
