    Amazon.com Product Description
Myst III: Exile, the groundbreaking PC title, has come to PS2. The title transports players 10 years forward in the Myst universe, where a new villain lies in wait. Saavedro, played by Academy Award® nominee Brad Dourif, has been hiding on Atrus's Ages, awaiting his chance to gain revenge upon Atrus and his family. Inadvertently, Atrus himself has provided that chance. He and Catherine have reestablished contact with the D'ni, a race of people whose knowledge enables them to write the special linking Books first encountered in Myst. Atrus hopes to see the D'ni civilization restored to its full potential, and his efforts to do so provide the perfect impetus for Saavedro to orchestrate his revenge. Players must track Saavedro through five surreal Ages, solving puzzles and uncovering the truth behind this new adversary and his devious plot. Only then can disaster be averted and the fate of thousands ultimately be determined.

Brilliant acting, intriguing puzzles, and great graphics.5
First of all, I was actually able to solve the puzzles on my own. With Myst and Riven, I had a bunch of trouble understanding the puzzles, and when I finally found the solutions on the internet, I realized that I would never have figured those puzzles out by myself! Exile is so much better. The puzzles seem so obvious once you figure them out, but figuring them out is quite a challenge in some places.

I also really enjoyed the way each age ended. I don't want to ruin any suprises, but the endings of each age are very exciting to watch!

3D rendering really adds to the effect. Now, instead of a whole bunch of pictures, you get 3D shots everywhere you go. Amazing how technology can improve so drastically over time!

Finally, check out the acting. Brad Dourif, who plays the villian, has some amazing monologues -- especially towards the end of the game. Dourif really enhances the already lively storyline with his acting.

What else can I say? This game rocks! As long as you have a fast computer, a good amount of patience, and you enjoyed the first two games, you should buy this one.

P.S. A word of caution: Do not begin playing this game without completing Myst and Riven first. This game assumes that you already know one of the most important secrets in the earlier storylines...

A good buy for MYST fans.4
Even though this game has been out on the computer for a while, it is still a good buy for any fan of the series. The actual gameplay remains the same: it is a point-and-click adventure that is nothing but solving puzzles. There is no change to the gameplay at all, accept for the ability to spin the camera 3D. The game is phenomenal, and very engrossing. Graphics, a staple of the MYST series, are great, but they are better in the XBOX version. If you never liked MYST, MYST III: EXILE won't change your mind, but it is another great journey any fan should be willing to take.

    5 plus 1 more star!5
There should be more games like this. Games that immerse you into the environment. Seeing these worlds made me want to be there. Beautiful. Who are these designers?! And the ability to interact with the environments really make it even more realistic. If the technology to put you in a virtual reality game ever comes out, a game like this would definitely be a big winner. Imagine to be able to see these awesome worlds and interact in them?! The puzzles aren't as complex as the ones in Riven, but, they are nevertheless, intrigueing. I just don't like the fact that some puzzles require you to write things down. If I was in that world, paper nor pencil may be available to me. So, I would have to rely on intuition and common sense. So, why not tailor the puzzles to fit that. I highly recommend this game and hope that a 4th comes out for the PS2!
