    A series best!5
Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days is not just a PSP remake of Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories but rather a complete overhaul with new mechanics from Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice and some from Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness.

The first thing to notice is that the graphcs have been rescaled for the PSP and look amazing for it. Although the game is solely a 2D sprite affair, the environments that are in 3D as well as the rescaled intro video (with the song "Sinful Rose"), really show how perfect this series is on the PSP as apposed to the bigscreen during the PS2 days. I feel that this isnt the strongest musically with the key track being Sinful Rose, but our favorite tracks return such as the song that plays for Rosenqueen stores and the theme song to Disgaea 1. There is also Japanese vocal track and English vocal track with tons of voiced dialouge. The combination moves for team attacks look amazing as well and definitely differ from Disgaea 1 and Disgaea 3, actually they feel more powerful than in those other games. The character voices for the classes actually seem to be different than they were in the previous games. No longer does the fighter say "I'll Finish This" :(

Mechanically speaking those that have played Disgaea know what to expect. Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days is an SRPG in which you can create more characters in different classes, level them up to level 9999, level up their items to level 100, and carry out many more numerous modifications to your hearts content. There are virtually no limits to creating the ultimate team and those who do will be heavily rewarded in the end, and endend game. Implementations from Disgaea 3 include the magichange system, in which you can move a human character and mosnter character together and get the mosnter character to transform into a weapon. You can now double magichange into a more powerful combination.

Storywise, the main story can span anywhere from 20 hours to 100 hours depending on one likes to level up their characters and enemies to get maximum experience points from them or to just rush through the standard mode and then play through the alternate storyline mode (which can actually be unlocked from the very beginning with a series of button presses). There is also promise of future DLC that will add other characters in the Disgaea storyline to this game as well for people to train, which is all forthcoming.

I found and still find Disgaea 2 to be a great entry for the Disgaea series on the PSP. My plan is to level several characters to 9999 just for the sake of trying to do billions of damage, it will be aweosme! There is no reason to not own it if this is your type of game. If you have played Disgaea 2 on the PS2 originally it is time to step up to this version, the bonuses, changes, and alternate storyline mode are worth it for this game. To get all the things that are in the beyond the end of the story mode there is tons to unlock and DLC coming our way.

What Tristan said is true. The game is pure awesomeness!!!4
Tristan being another person who rated and reviewed the game.....said just about everything I would say. I will add that I've played Disgaea and Disgaea 2 on the PS2,Disgaea 3 on the PS3 and Disgaea:Afternoon of Darkness on the PSP. The series (at least to me) seems much more suited for the PSP, just for the fact that you can't get enough of the game and need to play it all the time, any time, any where! And the fact that NIS can actually port the whole game to the PSP AND ADD ADDITIONAL CONTENT is flippin' sweet (although it doesn't really help the case about the Disgaea series lacking graphically, but thats a different gripe for a different time =) ). I just started the game myself and chose Axel's story mode because I wasn't interested in just playing through the same thing that I did on the PS2 version. Not sure what to expect, but it feels just a tad more difficult than the regular story mode, that's a good thing though because later on, the main story gets real easy when you get overpowered. If you've never played a game in the Disgaea series and you are a fan of SRPG's, then you have to at least try this game. If not on the PSP, then I recommend getting the PS2 version. If you have played Disgaea 1,2 or 3, then you know what to expect....SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR! Buy the game already. Stop waisting your time reading my crappy review. Adel, Rozalin, Asagi, Axel and more chameos than you can blow up with a single Prinny await....ZAM!

    You can play this forever!5
Disgaea 2 has got to be one of my favorite games. You play as the hero Adell, a young human who feels the need to defeat the Overlord Zenon, a fantastically powerful demon who has turned Adell's entire world into a planet of demons. The setup is that Adell's mom is a conjuror who attempts to summon Zenon through a spell to help her son and to get herself turned back into a human, but the spell goes awry and Zenon's daughter Rozalin turns up instead. Adell, being ever the hero, decides to escort Rozalin back to her father's domain and then lay the smackdown on him to reverse the spell and return his world's humanity. This lays the groundwork for some interesting revelations and makes for an intriguing story to hang the gameplay on. The game is more strategy than RPG, as you move your characters about gameboards that have various advantages or disadvantages assigned to them before making an attack. Playing through the main storyline the boards remain the same for each encounter, so you can replay them as much as you need to level up your recruitable army of characters. Name them, equip them, augment their strengths and bolster their weaknesses; these are YOUR characters. But the most fun is entering the "Item" world, an option after the first few levels, that allows you to extract extra powers to place on your character's equipment. These are all randomly generated boards that become puzzles for you to solve as you decide the best way to proceed. This is where you can play forever as you continually pick up new equipment and want to extract the powers for your upgrades.
The graphics are crisp on the PSP, and the sound and voiceover work is great. If I had to mention any cons, it would be that the game tends to give away items at an exobitant rate, and you will soon find your warehouse full if you choose to defeat every level and win every fight. If you enjoy strategy games, this one is for you.
