very cool - VERY UNDERESTIMATED
THIS IS REAL MOTION CONTROL FOR PS3 PEOPLE!!!!
This is an awesome idea for PS3 to use with OLYMPICS 2010 games, FIFA or any sports game.You can use motion to control your analog stick (right or left since you can swap them!) so for any game like skiing,SNOWBOARDING,or driving you can choose to do it with motion control. This is WAAAY better for the sports games and absolutely superior in NEED FOR SPEED. It is a pretty great controller for shooters too, IT HAS RAPID FIRE! and you can swap buttons. It can use rechargable batteries, which is a bonus, and you can plug it into your PS3 to recharge. One quote said "now you can have the best of wii, but with better games!" - this is absolutely the case.
This is the controller that does EVERYTHING except tell you how to use it. Which is my only complaint - the manual could be better since it is even far BETTER than you think by just reading what they put in the box.

One thing to note - the motion is NOT enabled when you first plug it in - you need to do a three button press described in the manual - then you can just use the one motion on/off button to turn it on/off.

I just spent two hours with the Dual FX Evolution. I wasn't disappointed or overwhelmed. I love motion control, so this was right up my alley.
The $90 price tag is pretty steep. If you currently aren't excited about six axis motion control, this controller is not for you. Personally, I enjoy tilting the controller rather than having to use the thumb sticks. Splitfish made the "Motion FX" attachment for the PS2.
That allowed me to use "tilt control" in any PS2 game. The Dual FX for the PS3 is even better. The controller is in two pieces, so you can tilt each one independent of the other. I even played COD by tilting the right half of the controller (up, down, left and right) to aim. My accuracy
was about the same as with the thumb stick. There was no rumble, which is disappointing. Also, currently no firmware updates available for Mac users. I look forward to replaying my PS3 library using this controller. If the price drops, everyone should give it a try!
First time SplitFish buyer, and a disappointing purchase...
This product, the PS3 Dual SFX Evolution Wireless Control, is one of the newer products from SplitFish/TekNmotion... I say newer, even though it was released last year in November.
I finally received the product after long US market delays, and was not content nor impressed with the controller. Now, I will go on record to say that I DID NOT try any of the robust list of features that this control offers. The reason is because, right out of the box, this control feels very awkward to hold. In the pictures, it looks smaller and ergonomic. However, the control is very big and bulky. Average estimated size in my observation is about 4 inches in length and 2 1/2 to 3 inches in depth... not very comfortable at all. I have medium average sized hands, and I stand 5' 10"... This control feels like it was made with gamers over 6'5" in mind.
So, this being said, I didn't care to try the other features to see if it would "grow" on me. I cannot make a $90 investment on a enhanced control in a sound mind if the key "controlling" portion (or portions in this case)are/is awkward.
Also, the build of it feels very cheap. Its about as light as the original SixAxis control (for those who remember the launch PS3 control). The buttons offer little tactile feedback, and feel like they need extra pressure just to do what they're supposed to.
2 Stars total.. 1 for innovation, and 1 for implementation.. in my humble opinion.
I do hope an upgraded version, or version 2.0 comes out soon after, because it is a fantastic control design in my opinion, just in need of more thought in the engineering and design.
